Must be difficult if you don't get the dressing room in the first place to lose it  not saying that's the case, but looking at players faces today, a lot didn't appear to want to be there.

I think a lot of Chelsea fans could live with a season giving the likes of Bulka, Christensen, Ampadu, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi & Abraham real opportunities as a group.

Good Lord.

"So here you go, Mr. Sarri. You have four weeks to prepare the team for the new season. Yes, that's right, only four weeks to implement a demanding new tactical style on a squad where most of the best players are still on holiday. Your star player is agitating for a move and your star goalkeeper too. Your backup goalie is Willy Caballero, you might remember him from the World Cup. Croatia certainly do. Oh and by the way, if you haven't won the Premier League by the end of August you'll be sacked.

Welcome to Chelsea. :D"

I noticed that when Willian came on. I can't recall ever seeing a player who looked less thrilled to be on a football pitch.

I'd be surprised and disappointed if we did that. If you go for a coach like Sarri you have to give them time to bed in. Having said that I'm watching the highlights now and we don't look great, especially at the back

likewise find it hard to believe but as you said it is Chelsea and they have quite a reputation

from an Arsenal fans point of view whose family is mainly Chelsea, it would be amusing but it would be unfair on Sarri and the fans

Chelsea have always treated the CS as a preseason friendly focusing on just getting fit. They have at times made comments making it seem like it's a relevant trophy to be won. I wouldn't expect them to be thrilled, just getting through it is the agenda really.

Aldershot Rejects wrote: 05 Aug 2018, 17:32 Chelsea have completely messed up the close season and the manager now doesn't have the players for the system he wants to play.

City are not a typical Premiership side though and can dismantle anyone so it is difficult to judge how Chelsea will fare against more normal opposition. Think I am going to hold on to Azpilicueta to start with.
Chelsea played way better on Wednesday

This might be of interest. Thursday being a "soft deadline".

So, if I understand correctly. after the deadline you can sign someone on loan until the end of August. You can also, if you wish, write into the loan agreement the caveat that the deal becomes permanent on 1st January. Is that right?

Suppose I'd better sort this team of mine out.

Yea he later clarified it is just the football league. Oh well. Is there a loaning out deadline for premier league clubs? The deadline could still affect transfers out.

I literally just learnt about this brand of consumer product.
Possibly not the best omen ahead of the new season.

Joe Hart (4.5m) has gone to Burnley where he looks pretty nailed to start the season as Pope is out and Heaton is still recovering.

Bit of a strange move for Hart who you'd have thought could have gone somewhere (Prem or Championship) and been first choice or pushing for it... instead of going somewhere he's naturally third choice.

Strong Liverpool line up for their last friendly bar Robertson who is benched (and an inexperienced CB alongside VVD)

Moreno was the captain for some reason.

Chelsea will have two new players soon. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Mateo Kovacic. Courtois is pissing off and good riddance too.

Take a look at Fantasy Scout tomorrow/Friday.

As for Liverpool:

Alisson
Clyne, VVD, Gomez, Robertson
Wij, Keita, Fab
Mane, Bobby, Salah

That's my guess!

Evening, can anyone link me to that thread with the retrospective simulation of last season, where a team without transfers would have won the entire thing ? can not find it..
