Finally got round to sorting my team.
Web-site was blocked at work, so I've had to do it in my own time. Totally scandalous. What do people think that we go into work for?

Re: Virgin Media - FISO Mini-League with exclusive prize
I have just spent the last fifteen minutes trying to pick a team and got no further than a keeper. This is possibly the least fit for purpose website in the whole of fantasy football this year.
I also notice that the special FISO prize has been confirmed as a Ryan Giggs shirt. Of all the things in the world that I really wouldn't like to own, a Man U shirt (signed or otherwise) is right up near the top along with fatal diseases.
For those reasons I'm out.
Good luck to all those of you who have persevered and managed to get an entry in, I wish you well with your teams and your patience.
I'm off to play some of the many games who not only want you to enter but who actively encourage entry by making it a quick, simple and painless process, as opposed to the counter intuitive torture offered up by this game.
Sorry.

Re: Virgin Media - FISO Mini-League with exclusive prize
I managed to tweak my squad around last night, and apart from the slowness in general, it seems improved from when I originally signed up.
I hope they are listening here - they really have to lose those videos on the site until the speed can be improved. The FPL site manages to have moving adverts without it affecting performance at all, and if Virgin are serious about having an enjoyable fantasy game - and I like the format - then they need to act fast.

Do you think this could be a deliberate strategy by Virgin here?Jonathan wrote:I managed to tweak my squad around last night, and apart from the slowness in general, it seems improved from when I originally signed up.

Sign up for super mega fast fibre optic broadband and you'll have no problems would appear to be the subliminal message (conveniently disregarding all those who are outwith the catchment area and are therefore not part of the target audience).
Perhaps I'm a cynic

Re: Virgin Media - FISO Mini-League with exclusive prize
I didn't think of that, sorbie. I am on Virgin's 10Mb broadband, and their fantasy football site doesn't come much above dial-up speed! The site just has too much going on - simples!sorbiegunner wrote:Do you think this could be a deliberate strategy by Virgin here?Jonathan wrote:I managed to tweak my squad around last night, and apart from the slowness in general, it seems improved from when I originally signed up.

Most other sites on their 10Mb service are great though, apart from skysports.com, which has always been sluggish for me. The connection annoyingly just falls off every now and then and everything needs restarting.
