Quite hard to analyse this, though sadly the signs don't seem good for future success. Any thoughts?
I completely missed the deadline today. I didn't twig it was the second set of games this evening. I won't be the only would I would imagine.

PNE4PREM wrote:Hi Stakesy ...can you clarify the position regarding these 2 leagues ( £1k and £5k) please..

All entries via FANTASY STAKES site and BETDAQ are in the one league. correct?

I've seen the updated overall table with Chris leading..Can we differentiate between each league?

I'm sure there are many people that think the current table is for one overall league..Thanks
Hi PNE,

As far as the regular leagues go, everyone is in one pot.

With regard to the Manager of the Tournament tables, these depend on which site you registered through. For example, on the FS site you won't see SynysteR, etc, who registered through Betdaq.

The fact that Hugo, Forbes and others are missing from the FS site is a puzzle. I'll get the techie wizards onto it in the morning and post back here after.

Nice to see lots of you still in gunning for the big prizes. Even though chrisharry has a very nice lead (great score, Chris! :) ), early days, marathon sprint, tortoise hare, etc. Plus don't forget the five runners-up prizes of £100 each....

LOL Chris. I've been away on a stag do in Benidorm, so had no access whatsoever........ so I left the gaffer in charge to put a few teams in.

Round 3 - 520 entries (up 90 from round 2)

88 different managers (down 9 from round 2)

4 managers make up more than 50% of entries
11 other managers make up more than 25% of entries

SynysteR has 132 teams in this round up from 16 in round 1. Who says you can't buy success?! Less people are playing but more teams as more are chasing the end of season prizes which could work well for a few people in the season to come. Bigger prizes may bring in more different players too although this is not yet the case with the world cup game.

Yep that's right. Just wanted to have a look at what I could've won. Only seems to be 5 Betdaq players aware of (or at least chasing) the 6 prizes available which explains the drop in entries (of people). It is bad that those not even entering all rounds are going to get rewarded. I'm assuming it's Betdaq's fault for lack of publicity.

It would be nice for the prize to be transferred to those higher up that leaderboard or just further down the FS leaderboard (like to be eligible you must enter all 5 rounds) so it is being distributed in a fairer way. Not sure how this would be able to happen though.

Edit: All rounds may have been entered but 6th place performed very badly and username changed between rounds.

Im pretty sure you needed to enter all rounds to qualify? so the betdaq prize is between 2-3 people

A bit more competition on the 1k front though!

Round 4 - 449 entries (down 71 from round 3)

99 different managers (up 11 from round 3)

3 managers make up more than 25% of entries
6 other managers make up more than 25% of entries
15 other managers make up more than 25% of entries

More people have entered probably due to the entry deadline being Saturday afternoon rather than Tuesday. I did all my teams last minute and 80 teams went in in the last 50 minutes. This was more than Tuesday as people were at work. Most mega multis are down as there are less bases to cover but others chasing runners up spots have increased entries slightly.

Will more entries be made in the final phase with there being 3 games or will less be made with only 8 teams taking part?

The top 5 have definitely entered every round although 5th place only had 2 teams in round 2 and 3 hence the low score. Below that, it's very doubtful anyone entered all rounds.

As long as you have a good last round you should win the £1k but don't get complacent! I think i'm a bit too far behind to get a runner up spot but 2 good rounds could get me up there, especially with round 5 being like a triple round.

Round 5 - 608 entries (up 159 from round 4)

93 different managers (down 6 from round 4)

3 managers make up more than a third of entries
8 other managers make up more than a third of entries

Less people have entered probably due to the entry deadline not being a Saturday afternoon. 80% of the highest number of entrants increased the number of teams entered (some significantly) to cover all eventualities of semi final line ups. After the shock results in the quarters, these are likely to be high up at the end of the game.

It looks like PNE4EVER will get into the last runners up spot but still all to play for with 4 games to go.

As for the future of the game, manager of the month looks like a good idea as well as a season long thing to get a higher number of entries, if not perhaps a higher number of people taking part.

2 entrants from Betdaq entered a total of 549 teams over the 5 rounds which has brought in some nice revenue and helped increase the prize fund. Whether it's worth it long term remains to be seen.

Well done all. I feared that I wouldn't be able to enter this much, and so it proved - only managed a team for the first phase. Looks as though a cumulative prize at the end of it all could be the way to go as it seems to keep the interest up.

The table below shows total number of teams entered, total number of points and (irrelevant as it may be) points per teams.

SynysteR 365 462 1.27
chrisharry_12345 249 478 1.92
Juan Manager 184 444 2.41
HugoBoss 170 474 2.79
Forbes SL 125 457 3.66
fresh1964 120 434 3.62
PNE4EVER 85 414 4.87
kevthegooner 69 426 6.17
MavPhiri 54 384 7.11
lurch 50 379 7.58
Chris Marshall 45 425 9.44
JAMESY 36 424 11.78
beltersland bruisers 35 394 11.26
thespecialone 45 403 8.96
arod80 20 400 20.00

The managers with most teams won the top prizes and were also runners up.

The results were skewed heavily towards performance in the final round with arod, and PNE the ones to lose out. kevthegooner also almost missed out after a bad final round. Jamesy was unlucky not to get top 6 being just a late booking away (see last post).

Personally I'm pleased with my own performance beating others than put more teams in and achieving my original aim of top 6. Had tso have entered the 1st round i'd have been 7th.

Had most of the regulars have entered via Betdaq after round 2 they would still have won £500 free bet.

Anyway it's all been good fun. Roll on the premier league in which i promise i will analyse less!
