Robert Morton (Current Monthly Leader)

Post by kickrem »

Hi to All,

Can anybody explain me how can this be possible? The current monthly leader has done more than 30 transfers and has sold players before bought them! Please click on "my transfers" of that team and confirm that! I know that before we submit a team, we can do what we want and subs don´t count. But this team has more than 30 players already with points counting. :( I will email SilentManager again, about this.

Regards,
Rui

I've counted and checked twice, and make that 34 scoring transfers so far, very odd.

Several months ago, I noticed the same thing, several of the teams near the top of a leader board had not only made 33-37 transfers after they had submitted their team but had more than 30 players who had contributed positive points to their teams score. Had meant to mention it on fiso, but forgot all about it before getting round to posting.

this isn't a one-off, the same player has other teams in the top 200 for the month and at least one other (f61nor, in 29th at the moment) appears to have used 32 transfers so far.

a quick google search comes up with someone with his name on linkedin, who is based in thailand and claims to be official world fantasy football champion 2010. i think i could be world champion too if i had three times as many transfers as anyone else!

Hi Rui,

We are aware of this, and the technical team are investigating this user right now. We believe it might be due to a points backdate that was carried out on this team at the start of the month. If we find that he has, in fact, made more than 30 transfers, he will be ineligible for any prizes. In this situation, the prize will be passed down to the next eligible winner. We should have a final answer early next week, hopefully by tomorrow.

Thank you,
Support Team

I raised a problem at the start of the month where due to sever problems around the 13:00 cut-off on the 4/2 I missed out on the Feb deadline. I do not even think I submitted the team however the team got submitted and had RVP, who of course scored 25 points that day so I was gutted. To my surprise however RVP was given the 25 points in my monthly total. When I checked the submit time it had some silly time in the morning 02:41. I think the server issue probably resulted in my team being Queued up and auto submitted past the deadline when the issue was resolved. I flagged it with them as I didn't want to play the team out knowing it was incorrect. they fixed it. I reckon he had same problem and team was submiited late, possibly even without him realising. If somehow the submit date gets screwed, as it did with me, then perhaps it's possible the logic to calculate transfers remaining also gets confused.
Morton is a regular player - no way would he have submitted a team at 11:00 am, i.e. before team news was confirmed.
Only difference with mine was RVP showed as scoring 0 in 'My Transfers' even though the 25 point score was updated in the total - that's how I knew it was incorrect. His doesn't seem to show like that, but I'm guessing it's all linked to the same server issues I saw that day and the duff submit time subsequently updated on that team.

Hi guys

Thank you for the feedback and brining this to our attention.
Our technical team are currently looking into the transfer history display issues for this team.
Our team here run regular checks to ensure that users are not breaking the game rules by using too many transfers or going over budget with their teams.
Any users found to have broken the rules will be removed from the game as we look to maintain integrity of the competition.
In this instance, we believe that the issue is relating to the display on his transfer history page rather than the user trying to break the game.
However, we will ensure that this is fully investigated prior to put any fix in place.
We will look to have this problem resolved as soon as possible.

Thanks

I would like to thank silentmanager for responding to our concerns, I think to make sure the league table is totally correct would be to check the top 250 teams for using the correct amount of transfers and to also make sure that teams were submitted before the cut off point. If any teams are found to have gone beyond the rules they should be removed from the league table so other managers can see where they actually are and can begin to sort out how they are going to play the last couple of weeks.

There was a team in the bottom league (entered late so ineligible anyway that had made over 50 transfers so I don't think it is a one off.

His team still isn't there, can we assume some sort of foul play? Would be interesting if SM would explain.

Hi guys,

Just a quick update on the Rob Morton situation:

There was a display issue with his teams, which has now been rectified.

We hope this helps!
