Weekly international

Post by Trev the red »

So, the international break won't be as boring this time now we have more of a focus on games after picking a team! What do we all think of the idea? What players will shine? Wait let me correct myself there, what plays will fit the alogofshite?

Far as I know ratings will be done by match reporters for these games. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Incredibly hard to pick a team to be fair, hardly any options.. But I have managed it

Due to the Swiss playing san Marino and it likely to turn into a massacre

A few Swiss players are going in.. Apart from that the obvious Lewandowski / Walcott sorta thing going on here...

Its hard to second guess how teams will line up its a lottery

You would think they'd say so and provide the fixtures like last year. I suppose if they did that it would be bordering on competance. Can't have that now, can we.

Ireland will lose to Germany, fancy Scotland to beat Poland at Hampden, which means they go to Gibraltar needing a win, Gibraltar being the worst team in International football. Fletcher and Naismith are absolute NAPS, 5 goals each.

They may be the worst team in international football (debatable) but Scotland are hardly world beaters (fact)

Poland will beat Scotland and the Scots will prob rotate the team against the minnows..

Staying away but thankyou

Scotland can still draw at home to Poland and manage to get the third play off spot, meaning, when German beat Ireland, Scotland will be 3 points behind Ireland with a game against Whipping boys Gibraltar, whereas Ireland travel to Polska where they will come back with the square root of Sweet FA.

Then when level on points, the third spot will be awarded to the Jocks on the basis that the tie-breaker in this instance benefits them, the first tie-breaker being Higher number of points obtained in the matches played among the teams in question;, they drew 1-1 in Eire and and beat the Paddies 1-0 at home.

Germany will be playing their best XI as they're not assure to take automatic spot yet.

This is good news as I always dread these breaks. I thought all I was going to have to watch during this break was the programme on Rooneys life. :( I did watch it but it was pretty bad and basically did nothing to excite in any shape or form. But I still gave it 7/10

happy that there is a DT weekly coming up as otherwise I always find internationals fairly boring but now it has perked my interest in it. as others have said, its a hard team to pick this time. so much depends on the 1st set of games results as to what teams will be out for final game. for example if wales can get the draw against bosnia then they are qualified. does that mean coleman will rotate his squad and give his squad players a run out against Andorra? but if bosnia beat them, then you assume wales will play their strongest team against Andorra. this scenario will probably be the case for most of the groups.

I think i'll just go for the big hitters

I agree. you heard it here first; courtois, benteke and Kompany will score aguero style mega points this break :)

kebab at 4pm? you on a all day bender or something? or are you being cryptic? are you really saying Greece and turkey is the way to go?
