FISO Tff Championship, Champs/Chumps 2019-200

Post by theo29 »

you may have noticed the Championship 2019-20 thread which is currently touring around all 24 teams prior to the new season. I ran this 2 seasons ago when there was just about time to gather / bribe a single fan from each club and it was a lot of fun.
Last season Tff Championship was so late appearing it did not happen. If you are a fan or casual follower of any of the 24 just post your user name and team on here by mid July. Further details will follow.

the first supporter has appeared and his team is FULHAM. The 24 teams are known and we await the details from Tele Towers. So far the teams mentioned and looking for FISO support are Luton, Reading, WBA. Birmingham City, Forest, Charlton, Cardiff City,Swansea City , Fulham. Is one of them your favourites ?

in my efforts to drum up 24 owners for the new seasons Championship line-up I have sent a small number of pm's to FISOers who have been previously involved. Nil response so far but I have certain takers for Fulham, Derby, and Reading, In the case of Birmingham City, Forest, Huddersfiel and Leeds it may well be whoever gets in first once the leagues have been registered, Could you be one ?

Go then, put me down for Forest 8-)

If someone else is desperate for Forest, I'm happy to be a different club. Within reason, I'd have to draw the line at some of them.....

thanks Art. I feel I have to give 'first refusal' to forestfan for this as not too many FISOers have their user name right up front for their team.
Can offer a wide choice. Maybe avoid Brum as there are 2 likely contenders there, also Huddersfield if I can tempt Maldini.
QPR in the spotlight at the moment.

“nffc” might challenge me on that one... but I’ll have a go, if it’s just regular TFF.

Looks very unlikely that they’ll be running the game this year but if they do, I’ll take Huddersfield.

Could just have a Championship fans’ challenge for PL TFF, which is what I thought this was initially?

I’ve never played the Championship fantasy game itself anyway, can’t be bothered to learn about all the masses of mediocrity that inhabit this league, have enough trouble keeping up with our own squad from week to week!

You’ll be glad of the Championship next season when VAR starts ruining Premier League games

'with bated breath' now applies to this while we await the Tele Towers decision. If it is a non starter I can devise a simple actual points won event which will not need real life players at all. That should suit forestfan !
Likely runners at present. Leeds, Derby, Reading, Forest, Huddersfield, Birmingham City,Fulham, Hull. Sheffield Wed.

It will be in the Championship the season after, no doubt...

It’s not the concept that’s at fault, but the way it’s being carried out, combined with the draconian handball rule guidance. Should be used to eradicate the refereeing howler (perhaps via NFL-style challenge system) and to deal with off the ball incidents.

all the teams are back in pre-season training and the FL move to Chelsea should be confirmed today (Thursday)
It seems a Tff Championship event is a non-starter so coming shortly is a weekly fun comp involving teams and not actual players.
The league will be split into 3 geographical zones.
SOUTH. (9 teams) Fulham. Brentford. QPR. Millwall. Charlton.Reading. Swansea. Cardiff.Bristol C.

MIDLANDS. (6 teams) Stoke. Forest. Derby. WBA. Birmingham. Luton.

NORTH. (9 teams) Middlesbrough. Hull. Sheffield W. Huddersfield.Leeds. Barnsley. Preston. Blackburn. Wigan.

What you do follows as soon as Tff makes its appearance.

Courtesy of forestfan we can forecast how we think the league might go and someone just might get close to how it will look next April. Now that Tele Towers have abadoned the Championship lets hope FISO have a posse of interested fans to keep it going.

the season begins on Friday and so far there has been a very modest number of forecasts of how the table will look at season's end. The opener sees debutantes Luton Town at home to fairly strongly fancied (to go up) Middlesbrough. Which will prove to be the strongest geographical grouping of the 3 areas will be a regular port of call. Anyone any thoughts on this ? South 9 teams. Middle 6 teams. North 9 teams.

just one Midlands duel in the opening games. Forest v WBA. The latter strongly fancied to feature amongst the leaders. Forest who knows ?

the first session had Fulham, Huddersfield and Cardiff as the 'chumps'. Not a point between them. Yorkshire strong at the top with wins for Leeds, Barnsley and Sheffield Wed. Forest and Stoke both lose at home, Derby and Birmingham both win away. Very early days though.

Telegraph web site out of action. Overloaded ?

I imagine we'll chop and change the team from the 50 or so first team players still hanging around, be plodding along in mid-table which is a good as you can hope for when you haven't really had what you could call a 'team' in five years, then the manager will be sacked around Christmas, some other mug will come in, we'll signed a dozen or so waifs and strays in January and struggle on through to the end. Good times Image

Art does not sound too confident about the season's possibilities. Perhaps a win at Leeds will put a smile on his face this weekend.
After the first week of action Jc's Leeds and wiseowls Wednesday & Wigan lead. The pointless 11 at the bottom include Reading, Huddersfield and Forest.

the early contenders as Champs or Chumps have to be Leeds and Charlton for the former with Stoke and Huddersfield in deep wotsit in 23rd and 24th. Our consensus table will be interesting after 10 games with almost certainly some new managerial appointments in the division.
