Re: TFF/FPL Combo Cup - 2011/12
Although I appreciated all your telegrams and bouquets following my victory over Nedved, please no more fuss.
I think it was just too cold for him,he was shivering throughout both legs - it can't just have been nerves I'm sure.

You can get your own back in Wales! But thanks all the same.Hogmeister wrote:I see it took you all of 2 minutes to get that comment in, Jonathan!Jonathan wrote:aha!
Sigh... not content with making comments about how Reading's new-found wealth is so far only allowing us to buy up QPR rejects, you're now gloating that you've knocked me out of the cup. Oh well... well done, and good luck in the next round.

Indeed!! A very close match. Last minute transfers in of VDV and VP cost me, as I had armband on Dempsey until I brought in VDV and had the clever idea of captaining him!! Just the lastest in a long line of bad judgement with my FPL team this season!! Well played and good luck in the next round!! Although judging by your performance this season, I don't think you need anymore help!!!Deppy wrote:Well played Mintman, you were very unlucky. .6 loss.

Quarter Final
1st Leg
The 1st leg sees Jonathan with a mountain to climb to overturn a huge 53.4 point deficit. His opponent. MattyB, will still harbour hopes of a historic cup and League double.
Deppy's hopes of the double have been hit hard after a heavy 1st leg home defeat to tenpinterry.
Richt takes a useful lead into the home leg against grob and hancockjr and Trickster1 are neck and neck.

I think FA cup games do count in TFF so will be part of the GW26 cup points.

That's fine. I was aware that cup games score in TFF. My question was poorly put. What I meant was:Surprised wrote:tenpinterry wrote:Surprised, am I correct in my assumption that this weekends FA Cup games do NOT contribute to the TFF points total for GW26?

"GW26 refers to FPL not TFF (which is currently in wk 28 when the cup games are being played). GW26 (FPL) embraces wk 29 of TFF. This means that the Q-Finals will include 1 week of FPL and 2 weeks of TFF"

The scores from TFF will only be the points scored within the timeline of GW26 in FPL so 21st Feb to 27th Feb.tenpinterry wrote:That's fine. I was aware that cup games score in TFF. This weekends games will contribute to the league but not the cup.
It's a problem i didn't forsee so am happy for people to come up with ideas to make it fair.

Re: TFF/FPL Combo Cup - 2011/12
My thoughts:
It's sensible to take gameweeks from FPL, as it can be hard to get the info mid gameweek and it's against the principle of FPL to split a gameweek any.
The TFF scores should therefore be taken to match this, hence "TFF gameweek 25" is still on and will be supplemented by the FA cup scores.
Anything else will need you to sit down and define gameweeks, and maybe have to re-adjust if the games get re-arranged.
It's also in the spirit of a combo comp. The hardest thing of all in managing both competitions is the FA cup. We are getting to the stage of the season where in TFF you only want players in the FA cup, as you lose games otherwise, whereas soon in FPL you'll want to avoid FA players as they will be missing gameweeks. Taking the FA cup out of the equation ruins all that.

So you suggest that the points in TFF from Tuesday night (14 feb) to next monday( GW 26 starts Tuesday) should be in GW25?hancockjr wrote:My thoughts:

Games with different gameweeks makes a combined cup quite tricky!!

not fussed either way. The more games included the better the chance of someone making up a gap imo which may make it more interesting.

Re: TFF/FPL Combo Cup - 2011/12
I will include all FA cup games on 18th and 19th Feb in GW25. There are no more games until Feb 25 and this will be GW26.
The amended 1st leg will be posted Tuesday/Wednesday nest week.
It seems only fair to include the FA cup games in the TFF/FPL cup.
Maybe in hindsight I would have staged the cup rounds in weeks when the FA Cup was not on to make it more straightforward.
Apologies for the confusion and I hope it hasn't ruined the cup for any of you.
