Merry Xmas J.
Looks like we're losing a league member due to my delayed updates. Oh well.
It makes running the Combo Cup easier in January actually with an even number of teams though.
I'll be setting it up in January and will follow the same format as last year. ie. A Champions League style game.

Shame you couldn't have got an update out after the last set of games, Rich.
If my sums are right it would have made for interesting reading ...although I am (very) biased, of course

Great game this, very challenging indeed.
I've slipped back after setting a decent pace, my Telegraph team dropping from c.1200 to c.30000 overall
Ticking along ago in FPL but still finding it hard going, looking to freshen up with the January WC and in TFF with a few changes and go again!

It's my worst TFF team of six, even outperformed by the team I abandoned in September due to its crapness (left it with 27 transfers till last night, to go at the divisions side-game).
Been staging a bit of an FPL revival in recent weeks though, so hoping for a positive move in the next tables.

Agree that this is a great game. For a long time my TFF team was all that was keeping me up there, as I was really struggling on the FPL side. But I've been on a bit of a roll recently, with my TFF team now up to about 1800th and my FPL team having risen quite a bit too. I think I'm in the top 3 or thereabouts at the moment, but it's all very close at the top.

Thanks hogmeister for doing that update. Top man.
Apologies guys... it seems real life has taken over (this is a good thing not a bad thing by the way).
Which is why I mentioned this issue in another post around Christmas time.
To be perfectly honest, I cannot run this comp week on week anymore.
I am really... really sorry guys.
I could post updates every now and then but that means you all might get a bit 'miffed'
If that's OK then that is what I'll do.
If you would prefer a more regular update then I can quite easily email the spreadsheet to one of you guys to work out the scores and post the leagues on here more regularly.
To be honest... that would make my life easier at least until May.
Again... Apologies everyone.
Ideas/cunning plans/helpful FISOers to keep this great side comp going would be welcomed.
Cheers

I'd imagine it's getting all the scores downloaded and a macro in excel might make this a lot quicker although I'm not sure how you do it right now.

There are macros that should work but my old version of the Apple Mac version of MS Office does not make it easy to use.
To be be honest mate that isn't the issue.
Basically... Lot's on at home = Less time for FF.

I've also received a PM from hancockjr who want's to help out.
Would it be better if you both talk or PM directly to each other?
I've already emailed hancockjr but I'm sure we can work it out via PM.
The other bit to consider is the cash league that SP4 holds the money for. That is seperate so it should be OK. Just so you both know.
Anyway... thanks guys

Re: TFF/FPL Combo League Tables - 2010/11
Hi guys - have only just seen these posts (so I wasn't keeping quiet through an unwillingness to volunteer for anything!).
For what it's worth, what I have set up in Excel is two tables, one for the FPL scores to be manually typed into and one for the TFF scores. I sort them by current score and then manually enter the updated scores. Then sort both tables by name, and I have a third table (also in name order) which then does the (1.4xTFF)+FPL sum. Finally, I copy and paste values from that third table into the weekly snapshot table and sort it by total score...
...so I suspect that you guys will have something a little more automated (TBH, it's just the manual entry of the scores that takes time), and of course I'm not tracking best score of the week, last week's position, or anything like that, just current total scores.
But if I can be of any help at all, just ask - publicly or via PM.

What we have now is more complex because it keeps track of weekly scores but I think I may simplify it and go with just the total scores as this is all people are really interested in (as you have done Hogmeister). Hopefully I can do a script which will automatically download the scores (both TFF and FPL have there own league for this so it is just downloading the league tables)
I can keep going with the best score of the week
If however people want to keep the weekly scores in each table then I can try and do this.

Had some spare time this morning so (despite being mid-GW) thought I'd do another of my quick updates - usual warning that this down to manual copying of the 62 different scores, so there could be the odd typo, but here it is.
Top 5 remain the same as my last update, but in a different order - Mintman has had a big week so far on both FPL and TFF and has opened up a bit of daylight at the top, I have stalled a bit, while Nedved (who has scored the highest since my last update) has moved from 5th to 3rd, just ahead of Hancockjr - there's nothing much now between 2nd and 4th. Keithy007 has dropped from 3rd to 5th, while Totempaul has overtaken Tenpinterry to take 6th.
