TFF/FPL Combo - League Placings and General Chat

Bottoms... it looks like that I have some serious maths to do tomorrow.... I've just got back from a busy week plus I'm too tired to sort it out tonight so I may have to add a 'correction' score to make the numbers add up.

This shows the difficulty in combining the weekly scores from each game week on week. Lesson learn't and maybe ideas about changing the rules next season???

Just trash the TFF scores Rich, you know it makes sense.

I still can't get over the form of my TFF team. It's pants.

Ditto - it would be soooo easy to make every team the same as the 'best' XI that you see before the season starts - but where is the fun in that?

My Portsmouth block backfired in this league, and I've not really recovered and my FPL team is like a yo-yo. Every time I try to do something different it backfires

Amen to that!!... It all looked so obvious in August!!!.... this is my only TFF team BTW (except my eggcup team which is now doing much better!!!).

Ditto - it would be soooo easy to make every team the same as the 'best' XI that you see before the season starts - but where is the fun in that?

DD, for next season you really only need to show the current week points in each game then the totals, no-one needs all the prior week data so it could be simpler.

You could even paste in pics from the websites direct for the TFF and FPL week+total and just Excel the Grand Total part. That would save you having to do too much.

Yep... that could work. I'll have good a rethink over the summer. This season, being the first run, has meant I've followed my nose a bit. Plus TFF decided to update on a daily basis instead of the old Wednesday update which is what I had legislated for when I planned it out last July.

Back to the problem. I think (as spencer said) deleting the last 2 weeks TFF scores and then recalculating them will sort this mess out. I'll have a close look at it later.

Normal service now resumed peeps. The FPL league has dropped to 10th but the TFF league is now up to 23rd. It's only a few points off the top 10 so if we could get both leagues into a top 10 finish I think that would be a great achievement in this first season. Keep it up everyone!!!

Also, although there's no cash prizes for this, I've decided to give out a virtual prize medal to the top 3 in May. Not sure if that's much of an incentive though!!!

Right... I've officially given up trying to keep these 'kin 2 games in sync. It's bloody impossible to honest!!!

So... From now on I'll just show the seperate totals for TFF and FPL plus my combined league based purely on the day (or night) I choose to do the update.
I promise to work out a clearer way of doing this next season - honest guv!!!

Also, it makes it easier on the eye too because I'm not going to screenshot the running weekly totals which are now quite wide anyway.

Monday March 2nd Update

The TFF league has had a good week, shooting up to 19th overall. Well done to the top 5.
After another stonking week in FPL Spencer4 has moved into 3rd overall and the top 5 of the Combined League. Well played Sir!!!

OK... here we go...

Lots of good news since my last update.

In TFF we are now up to 14th and only 7pts off a top 10 spot. If we get there by May I think it will be a fantastic achievement in our first season.
In FPL we are up to 4th and only 0.2pts off the top 3. The Elite of the Elite are in 3rd so it would be nice to beat them...

Plus a big shout to TheCharltonFan... into the top 5 having never played either game. Top scoring fella!!!


Finally... I think I've worked out the scoring problem I've had. If I use the TFF GW rules (every week is Tuesday to Monday throughout the season) the two leagues will always be in sync. I'm going to try this out until the end of the season to see if that works. If it does I'll change the rules next season.
So every update will be on a Tuesday from now on.

Anyway... apologies for the delay in updating. Leagues to follow.
