I'm new to TFF this season, and I'm also in the FISO FPL Virgin's league, as although I did play last year, I wasn't attentive enough at the start of the season. Only over halfway through did I actually start playing, and by then it was too late to change much!

Surely,the "new to FPL" colouring should only apply to those who are actually playing for the first time,not those who have played previously and are therefore familiar with the rules of the game,but didn't do very well for one reason or another ?

I can't see the point of describing someone as an FPL Virgin,just because at the start of the previous season they weren't concentrating as much as they did later on

I know that whoever took on the job of running the FPL Virgin's League this year, made a concession to those who didn't do well the previous year in allowing them to join,but doing this could deter others,who genuinely have never played the game, from joining.


The same principle applies to TFF "virgins" - they should genuinely not have played before.

Besides,in TFF more so than FPL, there's not that much of an advantage in having played previously - it's surely one's football knowledge that really makes the difference ?

Fair enough... you make a good point. I was reading it as signing up for a game and not really playing it... I know I did that for instance last season with the SquadGod game. If I signed up again I still wouldn't have the foggiest about how to do well. So I'd still consider myself a virgin.

But for the purposes of this little sidegame I'll go with the full-on virginal status for the colour coding...

PS grob: Re. Playing previously... I think it's equally the same between the 2 games... it's the only way to get to know the rules and strategies involved. So anyone who comes in with a raw, rookie approach to either FPL or TFF will be doing well if they get to the top of this combined league... It's going to be hard enough for the people that have played both for a long time!!!

I think that is the best approach Dixie,to avoid confusion.

The colour coding is an interesting feature though of this "little side game",in that it may indicate how many new "customers" may have been attracted to either game,purely in order to participate in the "Combined League"

You can then claim to have enriched the lives of all such people !

Is this still open for entries? I initially wanted to play, but just couldn't work up the enthusiasm to play TFF. However, my brother's GF has requested that I manage a works superleague team for her, so I may as well get 2 for a tenner and use the other one for this comp.

I assume that both teams will have to have the same manager name, so will it be ok to enter a team under her name?

That's OK FKC re. the Manager Name and entries are open until the 16th. You just need to post your team names here and I'll add you to the comp.
