Who from FISO/Fantasy Sports would you like to hear about?

Post by admin »

As part of the new redeveloped FISO website which should launch later this month, I'm putting a section/category together focussing on the people within Fantasy Sports. (I think the 'people part' of Fantasy Sports is more interesting than the games  ).

I've dug out some of the interviews I've done over the past 6 or 7 years with people connected with Fantasy Sports (game operators and players) and am adding them as articles on the new website.

Many of these interviews are quite old so are there any suggestions on which people you'd like to hear about?

Would you like to see if The Bear would be persuaded to come out of his shell (cave?) and give an 'interview' (and do we need to send Ulrika  ?)? Who else would you like to hear from? Either post here or PM me.

Thanks. :)

How about contacting (or trying to contact) actual Premier League players and ex-players. Do they play FF, do they pick themselves the Hansen interview would be quite entertaining

Can do. One of the articles I've already done is with a former Pro-footballer albeit he had an interest in Fantasy Football.

Somebody from the Telegraph.

Ask them
a) if they read FISO (lurk) to see what their customers are saying and what mistakes we are spotting etc.
b) why they don't respond on here

I think thats an excellent suggestion, would love to get the chance to question some of their decisions over the last year.

Unlikely we'd be hearing from Silent Manager.

Maybe they could do an interview with Silent Bob?

I don't mind writing a regular dating column on here for all those on FISO who are unlucky in love. We could call it "How To Snare a Burd and Nail Her To The Floorboards" or something like that.

Admit it - you just spat your tea all over your PC at the thought of me giving comedy tips. I'm as under-rated a comedian as Francesco Totti.

I can just imagine the BBC sending one of their investigative reporters to do a documentary called "A Man Called Ville".

First he scans thousands of web pages throughout the night, looking for answers about who Ville is. Many have heard the name, but have never seen or heard from him. He spots a likely Finnish Facebook profile.

He goes to the northern reaches of Lapland to find a desolate landscape and a community in an old mining town. The inhabitants at first deny they know a man by that name, but some talk under the cloak of anonymity. They speak of a man, dressed in black, who lurks in the shadows, and speaks only in numbers, always counting to 38.

The journalist starts receiving threats on his phone, and then his cameraman finds his equipment stolen, before the Finnish government ask them to leave.

Just as they are about to board a train out of Helsinki, tired and defeated, a small boy pokes our man on his back, he turns around and crouches to the boy's level and, in a low voice barely audible, the boy whispers...

... "Tell Archy I pick them blindfolded at 11:25."

Notwithstanding a rather weak punchline, that was an excellent post.
