Top seeds from the Blue group already through, but other 3 are very tight matches with just the one match to go :|

HaHa
I doubt that it'll teach us, but with only the West Brom match remaining, bluenosey is beating us single-handedly.
No need for OllY39's respectable 5 points for us to get our come-uppance :!:
Three perfect scores from bluenosey is commendable.

Cheers Mick. It was just one of those fortunate weeks where everything nicely fell into place. I've used up my turbo boost now and am relying on Olly in the semis

It was certainly a good performance. I just hope we can salvage a tiny bit of pride tonight but I fear the worst

Yeah, starting to wonder if it was a mistake resting so many of our better players.

Might need to up our game in the semi and play pretty much the A team......

Big jon & Toffeelover 'cheated / covered us :? ' to grab a draw on the last fixture to sneak past us - which I knew they would - 19-19 all

Commiserations to the pom/thebillfella and DrBunker/Knulpuk who were both eliminated on the FISO Goals equivalent of penalties

A special mention must go to the pom who top scored this week with a quite frankly awesome 14 points.

Still, if you guys had done better in the group stages, you'd still be in

As it turns out the top 4 seeds have progressed to the last four..........what a semi-final weekend we have to look forward to :D

Harsh way to go out - will be a real phyrric victory for Murf and Spiny - sorry Dr B that missed week (a bit unavoidable) has come back to haunt (assuming I would have scored 16+, which is highly likely).

Well played fish n sheep.

;)

Gutted to lose out like that but I'm satisfied that neither of the two drawing teams who progressed will be able to live with themselves if they win outright having used such dubious tactics.

But having looked it up you agree that the taste of ash in your mouth / pending lack of sleep with the stress of knowing you have robbed someone blind means you are pushing for a replay, you say :D.

Look Murf cannot even bring himself to post he is so mortified with the injustice of it all.

All that I really noticed within the Wikipedia definition of the word was the abundant use of the word "victory".

We'll just let the feeling sink in. You won't see it coming but it will happen. One morning, probably around 3am, you'll sit up with a start and it will dawn on you that you've sold your soul in your quest for glory. At this moment, the true meaning of a pyrrhic victory will hit you like a truck and will forever be like a stone upon your back.

Good to see the DrB takes defeat so magnanimously  . Very much like our famously sporting Irishman who, when asked what he thought about Thierry Henry's handball against Ireland finished the interview by saying "France are going to the World Cup. Get over it."

The same fella is of course recognised for his impartial views on many topics & above all else, his forgiving nature. Best displayed when asked what he thought about Mick McCarthy after the Saipan debacle when he was quoted as saying "That man can rot in hell for all I care" .

Unlike the good Dr. Bunker, we got flogged & deserved our beating. Looking forward to seeing who makes it through to the final now (from the sidelines)

Och now I feel bad - Murf is not posting I suspect until this albatross is lifted from around his neck. It's a bit of an administrative hassle my end but if you want to run a replay I guess I could make the effort.

Neologism:

1: a new word, usage, or expression
2: a word coined by a psychotic that is meaningless except to the coiner
