Re: World Championship Belt of Premiership Predictions 09-10
Another draw sees me through, the low number of fixtures helping me out. Im starting to like the feel of this belt

SET 33 TITLE FIGHT RESULT
BAGPUSS 4 v 4 Surprised
Seems low scoring but with so few games only 10 of the 37 in the league managed 4 so Surprised was unlucky. Our cloth champ fights on yet again as he still didn't lose.....
CHALLENGER: paulgrinny (7) - Not bad as nobody else beat 4.

I've PM'd him to let him know the bell for the fight has sounded.bagpuss wrote:Up next is someone who's posted on the forum once (in 2007), come on paulgrinny, lets be 'avin you!
(I've had to kick 2 people out of the league in recent months for not into the spirit of things when fighting for the title)

Currently 8-6 in my favour, and with us both going for a home win I'll be keeping hold of the belt for another week

SET 34 TITLE FIGHT RESULT
BAGPUSS 9 v 7 paulgrinny
At last a 'proper' win for our champ. Is he starting to put a run together?
CHALLENGER: Spinynorman (12) - he beats farmerbob on countback by scoring a whopping 2 in Week 33 Can he do better than his failure in Set 28?

Good luck Spinynorman.
Hopefully I can win the belt again and actually defend the title this time.

SET 36 TITLE FIGHT RESULT
SPINYNORMAN 2 v 2 Ashers
A pitiful 2 retains the title for our new champion. Can he hold onto his belt in more hourable fashion versus.....
CHALLENGER: StarMan (8) - he beats the challengers on 7, 6 and 5 as well as the hordes on 4 and below.
Again not many matches in the Set (the midweek ones here) so one exact score could tip the balance dramatically.

Thanks for the PM Murf, had a feeling I was up for contention it just goes to show you shouldn't write yourself off if you get below 10.
Got my predictions in and I'm up against Spinynorman again. Let the contest begin.

SET 37 TITLE FIGHT RESULT
SPINYNORMAN 4 v 2 StarMan
An actually reasonably credible 4 gets a first win as champ for SN.
CHALLENGER: eagle224 (7) - somehow predicting Spurs would beat Arsenal and Villa v Everton would be 2-2 Misshull and bagpuss get closest with 5.

I was gutted that Wigan couldn't take one of the many many chances they had and make it 3 exact from 3 last night .Spinynorman wrote:I am actually reasonably pleased.murf wrote: An actually reasonably credible 4 gets a first win as champ for SN.

I really should have put Villa down for a draw but I just couldn't do it so it was my Spurs v Arsenal prediction that did it for me.

Re: World Championship Belt of Premiership Predictions 09-10
Another high scoring bout to forget, only five jabs all the way through and no fully landed punches ... I believe I lost this 2-1 yesterday with our predictions today only adding a point each. Well done Spinynorman.

The fourth official is holding up a board saying 2 games to go, so there is hope yet of doing a Wigan....eagle224 wrote:Another high scoring bout to forget, only five jabs all the way through and no fully landed punches ... ...and besides the score is actually 2-2 because Spiny thought Pompey would win
