toffeelover 10 v 3 Lucky7s (aggregate: 16 v 11 , first leg: 6 v 8 )

DrBunker 11 v 4 jimmy ching (aggregate: 23 v 7 , first leg: 12 v 3 )

Everybody scoring 16 or more got through. Everybody who didn't... didn't.

Well except for Big Bird who has won enough of these things over the years so gets just limited sympathy.
Also doesn't deserve sympathy as he didn't make a lot of effort with his predictions  (put every game as 1-0 this round)
I needed a 3 pointer in the final game today, and got it :)

The number 1 seed has a 'mare

Messing with my head though. Considering amending my predictions to 'play it safe' :?
Yes it was a really bad weekend for my lot, well done to you and good luck for the rest of the comp. 8-)

The velvet bag is here with 8 balls in it. Kylie is here to draw the home team. Amy Pond is here to draw the away teams.

Who is left after we dumped the previous top 3 seeds?

1 98 toffeelover
4 94 eagle224
4 94 Moist von Lipwig
6 89 DrBunker
7 84 Minitoff
8 82 yorkshiredragon

Just had to google Amy Pond

More than happy for her to handle my balls, though there was no need to pull out the moist one, I'd have much preferred her to pull out Mini toff :P

QUARTER FINALS - OVERDUE UPDATE

1ST LEG - RESULTS

reds363 5 v 8 Minitoff
eagle224 15 v 14 yorkshiredragon
murf 6 v 11 DrBunker
Moist von Lipwig 7 v 7 toffeelover

2ND LEG - LATEST

Minitoff 5 v 8 reds363
yorkshiredragon 4 v 8 eagle224
DrBunker 4v 4 murf
toffeelover 3 v 4 Moist von Lipwig

AGGREGATE - ONE MATCH TO GO

Minitoff 13 v 13 reds363
- woh! Exactly level, even on away goals. A score draw tomorrow gives it reds363. A 0-0 takes it to a tie-breaker..... which Minitoff would win based on his WHam prediction. I think. Tense.
yorkshiredragon 18 v 23 eagle224 - top scoring by yd but topper scoring gives eagle224 the win
DrBunker 15 v 10 murf - DrBunker wins. Grumble, grumble, congratulations, mumble mumble.
toffeelover 10 v 11 Moist von Lipwig - toffeelover needs to outscore MvL tomorrow. 1-0 would be enough with away goals.

QUARTER FINALS - FINAL RESULTS

2ND LEG

Minitoff 8 v 8 reds363
yorkshiredragon 4 v 8 eagle224
DrBunker 4 v 5 murf
toffeelover 3 v 7 Moist von Lipwig

AGGREGATE

Minitoff 16 v 13 reds363
- Minitoff breaks the deadlock with a final day 3-0 whumping.
yorkshiredragon 18 v 23 eagle224 - eagle224
DrBunker 15 v 11 murf - DrBunker despite a final day blank. Just a late, pathetic consolation point for me.
toffeelover 10 v 14 Moist von Limpwedge - toffeelover needed to outscore MvL. He lost 3-0.

morganb wrote:murf, can you confirm or deny the rumours circulating on t'internet that Jenna Coleman is pencilled in to assist Kylie with the semi-final draw of this fine competition?
It appears they were just interweb rumours* I'm afraid but we are sticking with the theme of recent Dr Who assistants and so the draw has been done by our resident resident Kylie and special guest away team drawerer Catherine Tate!

SEMI FINAL DRAW

eagle224 v Moist von Lapdog
DrBunker v Minitoff

1st leg this weekend (starting 13th)
2nd reverse leg (starting 20th)

The final will be played on Boxing Day (1st leg) and 28/29 December (2nd leg) so it will all be finished as the year ends and the season is half done.

The CL Stylee Cup will follow soon after - stay tuned.

As much as I don't want to steal murf's thunder I've had a quick look at the scores for the first leg:

SEMI FINAL DRAW

eagle224 (8) v Moist von Lapdog (10)
DrBunker (13) v Minitoff (7)

murf, assuming these are correct I'm assuming you'll be cheering me on into the final? :)

SEMI FINAL - SECOND LEG SCORES SO FAR

Moist von Lapsang 7 v 8 eagle224
- eagle reduces the gap to 1
Minitoff 7 v 8 DrBunker - DrB extends his lead to 7 with just 9 to play for. With away goals looking bad for him Minitoff needs the full 9 from 3 and even then must hope DrB gets 1 more at most. "Super" Sunday's games could be hard to call so 6-0 is possible - if tricky. Then get the Chelsea winning score correct for a 3-1....

Congrats MvL. I think I just needed one more Chelsea goal to take this to a tie break - not sure how that would have ended but thanks to Costa misfiring again it was not to be.

SEMI FINAL - SECOND LEG RESULTS

Moist von Lapsang 11 v 9 eagle224
- Moist pulls it out at the death to make it look, on paper, like a comfortable win
Minitoff 10 v 9 DrBunker - DrB's lead was cut but far too luttle, too late.

THE FINAL
Sets 18 & 19
DrBunker v Moist von Lipwig

DrB gets the first leg at home with all 10 on Boxing Day
Moist hosts the 'weekend' games with 9 on sunday then a Monday trip to Anfield if it isn't all over.

Your reckoning is as bad as your picking

THE FINAL - 1st LEG RESULTS

DrBunker 14 v 12 Moist von Lipwig

After 2 games, the 2nd leg is 1-0 to DrB, predicting Spurs would hold Man U. 3 in it. 8 to play.

THE FINAL

1st LEG RESULT
DrBunker 14 v 12 Moist von Lipwig

2nd LEG UPDATE
Moist von Lipwig 4 v 5 DrBunker

That puts the aggregate at 16 v 19

So..... MvL needs a 3-0 win from the final match to tie things up and win on away goals. Very possible on a hard to predict Liverpool game. Just under 2 hours to go.....

Thanks. :) I wondered what you'd have gone for in that last game. I fancied you might have plumped for an outlandish score but I suppose given their form a draw was perfectly possible. It was close all the way to the end and murf can sleep at night again knowing he lost to the eventual winner. ;)

Congratulations to DrBunker, a worthy winner :D

(been 'between computers' so been slow getting to do the final update til my new machine was alive but I presumed you knew/guessed MvL hadn't fluked a 4-1 prediction!)
