FISO Goals! 2014-15 - Free Entry

Post by Jester »

The first three weeks fixtures are now entered and available to predict!

Admin has yet to announce what the prize is this year but I'm sure the winner can expect a nice little mug at least! :-)

Big Bird is the player to beat, winning last season and appearing in the top five in each of the last three seasons 8-)

Hopefully murf will run his usual side games again - watch this space!!

The Early Doors Cup will start early doors. Probably launch at the off with competition scoring from week 2 or 3.

There will be a sign up thread much nearer the time but all the relevant info on the cup/concept will be on last year's thread.

A warning to any new players. I played this last year for a while but realised some players aren't treating it like a predictions comp just putting down 1-0 to the favourites and letting the law of averages take care of the rest.

Don't want to be churlish but what's the point of that?

You won't win with just binary predictions. Big Bird won with a different method.

The joy of Premiership Predictions/ FISO Goals is in the simplicity.

Other games with more complex points systems and rules are also available. Try Sp4's game on here or Superbru (FISO minileague of course)

From a quick scroll through, about 98% of predictions were 1-0, the rest were 2-0, No other scoreline was used.

If someone is only about winning and that FISO mug(at least by what I remember the prize was FISO mug) is much more important than the fun of playing, then yeah maybe you're right, but for me I cared more about trying to predict scores precisely rather than being first - and I did pretty well in my opinion at the end anyway, having 14th place at the end last season - and I didn't predict 1-0 and 2-0 - I actually think most of my predictions involved more than 2 goals. Also I did win Murfs Premiership predictions knockout cup without having any tactics, so I really don't think that it matters if someone decides to have some tactic or whatever.
And as murf said, of course there are many different predictions side games, this just is the easiest to access.

Where do you see this data? Bu66erd if I can find it!
I wonder how many games finished 1-0 last season? Not the majority I would think, so maybe a flawed tactic? :?

I agree and maybe I'm an idealist but it would be nice to do both. That method just seems...inane to me.

Was going to add them tonight but as we have a week off I thought I'd leave it for a day or two. If one of the other Daves doesn't get there first I'll get to it Tuesday latest

GW5 Tottenham v West Brom is being listed in results even though kick off is tomorrow. Just checked the predictions and it does not appear in the list so this will prevent late changes/predictions for the game.

I think something's up with the BST/GMT timings on this - just got my predictions in but then Liv v Che disappeared off the list just after 10:45, whereas it should be 11:45 (1 hour before kickoff)?

On week 13 it has Crystal Palace down twice, it should be Sunderland v Chelsea.

I was set to predict Arsenal - United as a 1-1 draw, until I noticed Mike Dean is in charge.

The classic moment he celebrated a United goal.

Anyone already predicted the wrong fixture will need to go back and enter the new one.
