Entry is still open but, as we have crossed the 32 threshold, we will begin this weekend.

The number short of 64 that we finish up will be how many byes are given out - which is currently 31 of 33!

Byes are awarded to the highest placed as of those who had entered by the initial deadline, the 19th. The first check I did after that had 31 entrants so the 2 latecomers, WilBert and Lucky7s are definitely starting this weekend where they will be joined by any newcomers and the required number of players starting from the bottom.

EDIT = up to 36 entries (28 byes)

Last call - deadline looming!

The draw will be later tonight. Unfortuantely Kylie has pulled out after seeing the low turn out for this comp and how many players are getting byes. Any reference she made to "dodgy latecomers" and "useless low scorers" making up the draw for matches and the actual task of drawing of the balls being "more suitable for a talentless z-lister wannabee" shall remain confidential and unsaid. She did however arrange for her sister Danii Minogue to take her place drawing the home teams and she shall be warmly welcomed, along with her old mate Ethel (sorry, I could get anyone famous) who will be drawing the away teams.

ROUND 1 - 1st Leg
Early score update (9 minutes)

WilBert 1 v 0 BOLTONBOY
pasty 1 v 1 coryphaeus
Lucky7s 3 v 1 morganb
yorkshiredragon 1 v 1 barrydixey

BOLTONBOY didn't pick, nor did Digsby and Ashers - the 33 pickers all went for Arsenal wins, 12 getting it spot on (only Lucky7s of those with a game).

(I've got admin rights on FISO Goals so I can update the scores now. Was keen to get this comp started, nothing to do with me getting 3pts and seeing if anyone behind me did - FoxITB didn't  so I've got a 2pt lead  )

ROUND 1 - 1st Leg
Results

WilBert 8 v 0 BOLTONBOY
pasty 4 v 8 coryphaeus
(un)Lucky7s 8 v 15 morganb
yorkshiredragon 6 v 6 barrydixey

No shows - BOLTONBOY, Ashers

WilBert and morganB (the runner up in the main comp MOTW - well he would have been if there was one) can put the reserves out for the second leg but pasty must still think he has a chance against coryphaeus and the bottom tie is a tight low scoring affair.

Proper order.

Pullovers for goalposts, tripping & shoulder / body checks permitted, last one with muddy knees gets called a softie, home after dark.

My style of footie 8-)

Never had a velvet bag in my pockets, though ,,, a few vinegar hardened conkers perhaps ...

Ok, the draw is complete.

Thanks to the delectables, Kylie for drawing the home teams and Rachel the away teams. They can both stop fumbling in my velvet bag now.

Round 2 Draw
Knulpuk v Colbert
WilBert v Spinynorman
murf v Alchemist
Spencer4 v eagle224
Rookster v TheTon
bluenosey v Brightwater
morganb v Ralfbergs
Surprised v Shaggy365
the dude abides v toffeelover
Darbyand v paisleypark
Digsby v Rob
Moist von Lipwig v Ashers
goldenballs v Big Bird
steve foster v thebillfella
coryphaeus v barrydixey
foxinthebox2001 v Mick MacPaddywack

First legs (as listed) this weekend. Second legs (reverse fixtures) after the infernal break. Ties decided on away goals then the super complicated tie-break rules from days of yore.

Good luck everyone :D (except Alchemist, sorry)
