Saturday captains and banter

Post by itslikebrandnew »

T1 - Sterling

T2 - Kane

T1 If Sterling doesnt play then i have poor captain choices and it will force me into Salah to Kane. Also with T1 i have Alisson and i could either transfer him out now and get an extra game or wait until next weekend as it's possible he may be ok then. If he's not then it opens to the door to a couple of keepers that had hard first day fixtures but then 3 decent ones. Not really sure i want Guilbert starting today  . Will need decent returns from Deulofeu and Siggy to keep my good start going (42pts from 4 players).

T2 has 26pts from 1 player. It was a simple coin toss between KDB or Kane. Kane wins based on VAR (there's bound to be one crazy VAR game today).

Hoping the curse of Aguero doesnt striker today. For the last 2 seasons i've struggled with transferring him in and out of my team, so this season i've taken that decision away from myself by leaving him out completely.

I’d be surprised if we see Allison again before the overhaul (unless it was cramp!)

Moura (ISO) and Kane for me today.

Can anyone see leagues yet in the app? Just says they’re unavailable still for me.

I'd be surprised as well. I really wanted to start this season sticking to my guns with no transfers before the overhaul. I also hate the fact it's a keeper to transfer out. If it was a striker it would give me more captain possibilities but i only captain a keeper as a last resort.

First example last night of the new rules making a difference. Last season Salah would’ve had a 32 pointer last night, with him now being a striker like Sterling (and MOTM only 3 points) he got a 26 pointer. Makes quite a difference.

He was a striker last season, but yes it will affect Mane / Sterling but they can offset it a little with the change in bonus points for shots on target.

For me i'm hoping it doesnt make too much difference because over a season i'll switch strikers and get more captain choices wrong than right so i figure the impact is mimimal.

It's the pick and stick enablers and the changes to their bonus points that i feel could make a bigger difference.

B Silva not in the starting line up. 20% with Aguero might be annoyed as well

Aguero in neither for me. We discussed this at great length in the other thread.

Yep - right you are. It was Mane (& Sterling) who was a midfielder last season. Salah was the season before.

Might have a point on the enablers - Buendia picked up 2 bonus points yesterday he wouldn’t have got before. For a free kick on target and a pea roller i think, has to be good news for Salah and co too though.

Thanks, i'm going to hold off replacing him because i'll have another issue if Barkley doesn't start tomorrow and then i can go De Gea or Arrizabalaga.

That explains how Buendia got 6 points then, as skys breakdown of points isnt showing those 2 bonus points. Shows some tackling bonus points for Origi though.

Going to have to keep an eye on these bonus points as some non premiums might be able to rack up alot of these making them good value. There's a few cheap West Ham players to have a look through today.

City mega frustrating last year when captaining Laporte and never keeping a CS.

I left Laporte out as there was talk he wasn't going to play. I'm hoping West Ham get a goal.

2 decent captain picks in 2 days. Bit of a change to last season for me.

With a bit of luck with my 3 3pm players i could hit 100pts for the week.

It's all about T2 now - relying on Pogba as captain tomorrow

My T2 is sitting on 93 atm - you replaced Alisson with Ederson, right?

Nope, this season trying not to do quick reactions. I am looking at putting one in tomorrow and captaining him.

Which Everton players do people have in each team? (assumed you planned in advance for captains)
