So tell me Nm, after years spent floating aimlessly in a sea of scepticism how does it feel to finally accept the Venezuelan messiah?

My humble pie for tea tonight was lovely, I was just waiting till he had some decent players around him

Did bring a smile to my face when he scored, just hope he brought a smile to some in his homeland too :(

That was a big chance to claw back some ground, he was only a post away from another goal and surely 20 more points, but as it was Almiron got the MOTM.

Anyway, good to be heading back in the right direction. Another chance tomorrow with Auba, about time he bagged a couple!

Bit crap.

Good call to those with Laca. Also to Coleridge captaining VVD over Salah. I’ll take my 3 Liverpool cleanies & bonuses and move on :)

Wow what a Lazarus like comeback Biscuitman has made, never gave up and has pretty much matched Nbbeee  over the past month and is now hunting us all down. Good job old boy :D .

I've been flying under the radar, but my cover's blown now. Remembering to set my captains (or making sure I set them correctly on the website), plus not setting foot outside the UK for a few weeks had helped! But really I've just been doing the same thing; fortunately dodged a few bullets and had Aguero when it mattered... But, testament to the quality in the league, I've still been stuck in 7th place for quite some time. Anyway, overhaul was interesting. Finally abandoned my Wolves semi-block which probably washed its face overall, given the funds it released for elsewhere. But I've somehow managed to end up with Mendy (LEI) again - back where we started - and that's already looking like a mistake; but one that's difficult to correct given his low price tag. Getting to the business end of the season now - good luck, Nbbeee.

Nbbeee it looks like you've had a pretty decent night👍.
I think it's probably now time to take your team private. I'm sure no one will mind.
If you fall back you can put it back to public again. Good luck, do us proud :D

I would like to expand a little further on what I said about Nbbeee taking his team private and also ask for the thoughts of others.

Firstly I recognise someone taking their team private is against the ethos of Iso, where the whole point is everyone being equal (did I read somewhere that Iso is the Greek work for equal?), but obviously we are in unchartered waters here, there were no private teams in ofl and last year my winning team didn't hit the top 100 until the end of the season, so was never really in contention.

I think it's important that we don't disadvantage ourselves, so with this in mind i would like to agree something that we can work with for the rest of this season and then incorporate into the rules for next season.

I was thinking of something along the lines of when someone gets into the top 20/25/30 ? They have the right to take their team private if they wish and if they then drop back outside the top 50? They then make it public again.

What's your thinking people ?

Nobody should be at a disadvantage as you say, though i’d say wait until top 10. Purely selfish as I’m clinging on to a glimmer of hope in 2nd  moreover it’s quite fun watching Nbbeee’s captains deliver the goods every week.

Seriously though, it’s Nbbeee’s call. If he wants to go private now that’s cool. He’s still quite a way back from the money, the guy winning this is 70+ points clear of even 3rd place right now.

Last minute armband swap from Salah to Auba for me, with Ozil and Miki around him I just fancy his chances tonight. Cue a 2 pointer.

Interesting second half! Auba & Aguero got their goals, a Salah blank and I’m loving these Liverpool defenders.

On a separate note it looks like we’ve lost Bal along the way. Maybe he’s victim of the outside UK issue, but I don’t think his team’s changed since before the overhaul. Might give Biscuitman a chance of a top half finish.

I think bal is more or less out of transfers, so hopefully just lost a bit of interest rather than out of UK stuff.

Strange week when VVD outscores Kane , Salah and the whole Man city team combined

Yeah leaving it to Nbbeee to decide seems right.

I see Bman is now only three points behind Evvy, better start burning those transfers Evvy :P

I'm only 107 behind you, coleridge. :)

Re Nbbeee going private, I too think it is up to him. ISO ethos is the teams are public, but wouldn't want anyone seriously disadvantaged. Depends how far into the season we are as well. If one of us happened to be in the top 10 after 2 gameweeks, then it wouldn't be reasonable to go private. But if it was with only 2 gameweeks left, then it would be crazy not to. Currently being 60 off a top 10 place and 95 off a top 3, I would think there's plenty to play for, especially with some of those above Nbbeee likely to have burnt more transfers.

Would be easier to decide if Nbbeee told us how many transfers he has left.

Seriously, I'll go with the flow - happy to leave it to Nbbeee - think we all "get it" on this forum. It's good to see each other's teams (not that I spend ages pouring over them), but if Nbbeee gets nervous, or his team is very similar to rivals', then would totally understand him flicking the switch.

Looking forward to the next batch of games this weekend, but still figure out how to fix my Mendy overhaul mistake..

It’s not as if he needs a rest is it, I’ve had enough and got rid

I almost bought in Kane, but the next 2 games look good for Aguero so back he comes.

I do fear he’ll get a rest, but with a week off after today and a rusty Jesus I figured I’d risk it. I gave him the armband too for the hell of it.

Jeez and the Pog. I was cursing a missed opportunity hearing Aguero hit the bar, but despite a 2 pointer that transfer and armband swap was actually worth 8 points.

Dreadful afternoon for most of us so far.

Yep like you, Auba being benched saved me from him and a Pogba captaincy.

Re the tenner league. I reckon we're safe for the money :D . I've got transfers in hand of you but need some surgery so your still sitting pretty.

this weeks disasterous run continued today by failing to notice a 12:00 kickoff, was going to go Laporte to Luiz so no great loss.

Have slipped 3000 places in the week and am lagging at the bottom of weekly points list, so best work out what the heck to do

Regarding the 🍪 Mighty impressive over the last few weeks, keep it up

Cheeky. Your turn for a purple patch of captains, Salah’s run of 2 pointers killing me.

Anderson nearly went yesterday but with upcoming fixtures he lives on for a bit. Seems to have his potential diluted with Lanzini and Snod in the side.

I was actually looking at a way to bring him in myself, but couldn't quite finagle it. Be a decent transfer in the long run though.

Yep, finally started to hit a run of captains for the first time this season, more by luck than judgment though, as i have been looking for differentials to pull back ground on you and Nbbeee, although I suspect it's only a matter of time before one of the popular choices punishes me bad.

Anderson deffo looks to be on borrowed time, he had already lost corners to Snodders and now sharing free kicks with lanzini. Talking of West ham I see Rice single handedly saved Nbbeee's gameweek.

Re my schadenfreude at your Luiz transfer my other team that was heading for the top 100 had a Saturday that made Evvy's look positively good  , scoring a barely believable 2 points from 8 players (-4, -2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2)

Guess the Longstaff news will cause a dilemma for a few of you, play on with 10men or burn at least 2 transfers to get 11 players on the field.

Off to gaze now at a 🔮 to try and turn round my poor turn of form.
