Unfortunately they can, they've done it hundreds of times in the past and will continue to do so, regardless of how it affects people planning to go to games.

anyone know when the March TV changes will be out?

I was hopeful it might have been this week... I know supporters who have to plan and travel to games are the last consideration when it comes to TV :(

Liverpool v Arsenal will have to remain on Saturday 3rd March as Arsenal will be playing Milan on Tuesday 6th March. More than likely it'll be a sky game so will probably be a 12:45 kick off. I'm sure Arsene will be delighted with that after the internationals the previous Wednesday.

Advance news of fixtures

Post by SamD »

Looking even further ahead to league play-offs at Wembley next season:

The Football League and Football Association have reached an agreement regarding the scheduling of the 2012-13 Football League play-off finals at Wembley Stadium. The 2013 Uefa Champions League Final is already due to take place at the same venue on Saturday 25 May.

As a result, the League One and League Two play-off finals will move forward seven days to the weekend of 17-18 May with the regular season finishing a week earlier in both divisions. The Championship play-off final will remain at its original date: Bank Holiday Monday 27 May.

Liverpool v Tottenham can now go ahead as planned on Monday 6th February, as can Wolves v Man United on Sunday March 18th. Still no word from sky or the premier league on whether they're going to bring the North London derby back by a day. Maybe it will go ahead on February 26th along with the Carling cup final.
Also Wigan v West Brom and Fulham v Swansea can both go ahead on Saturday March 17th at 3pm. All other Premier League games on March 17th, 18th and 19th remain under threat at the moment.

FA Cup 5th Round: Two dates & times announced

Sunderland/ Middlesbrough V Arsenal: Saturday 18th February 5:15pm
Stevenage V Tottenham: Sunday 19th February 2pm

As a matter of interest, does anybody know whether or not there are designated dates for any possible 5th round replays. In Arsenal's case the only free dates I can see midweek are Tuesday & Wednesday 21st and 22nd February. Wednesday February 29th is Internationals, they play Milan on Tuesday 6th March and Newcastle on Monday 12th March with the quarter finals scheduled for the following weekend.

Crawley Town v Stoke City

Last year the 4th Round replays were on fifth round day. Chelsea were on Sky on
the Monday night before round 5 and they would not move the game to play replay midweek

Premier League clubs have agreed to move all matches on the
penultimate weekend of the season to the Sunday to avoid a clash with the FA Cup final on Saturday May 5

If you look at the small print

The only exceptions will be if an English club is involved in the Europa League final the following Wednesday and would prefer to play on the Saturday, and if Sky choose to show a top-flight match in the Saturday lunchtime slot - the Premier League would be contractually obliged to agree to that.

Without wanting to be too presumptious about who will be in the shake-up for the title at the end of the season, neither of the Manchester club's fixtures will be postponed that weekend because of the FA Cup. All four teams involved in the two games are already out of the Cup. I imagine Sky would want to show both fixtures on the same day so they should both be on the Sunday.

Spurs of course are still in the cup and have a decent shout of making the final; their opponents that day Villa are out. Liverpool v Chelsea is an appealing fixture that day for the Saturday early slot, although it could be the Cup final as well, echoing last season's coincidence of City v Stoke.

Yes but the two Manchester clubs could be in the Europa League Final so will want to play on Saturday so they can rest

Monday 7th May is a bank holiday so sky could show a game or two that day if no English team makes the Europa Final.

Sixth Round weekend has meant that the following will all be postponed

Blackburn v Sunderland
Everton v Arsenal
QPR v Liverpool
Tottenham v Stoke
Aston Villa v Bolton

Also Man City v Chelsea MAY be postponed

This leaves a Sunday at 4 slot for Sky Sports to fill picking one of the following
Fulham v Swansea
Newcastle v Norwich
Wigan v West Brom

Nothing I've seen. As they both got straight through then no reason why it couldn't be the replay midweek (6/7 March). Proabably plenty of others to pick from though.

I Imagine Sky will want to show it so it will not be during a European midweek :?:
