Re: Season 2010-11 * Weekly fixture schedule & amendments *
I was hunting around for possible news about re-scheduling of fixtures and came across a bit of a curveball in this link - http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsA ... eNews.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It says how Fulham's game against Bolton on Cup semi-final weekend will need to be re-scheduled and we knew that already. But it also says "Fulham’s away match against Birmingham City, which was scheduled for Sunday 15th May, will also be moved and revised dates for both matches will be published on fulhamfc.com as soon as they are confirmed."
Why? That is the day after the FA Cup final but both teams are out of the competition. I'm not sure why that fixture was originally scheduled for a Sunday anyway, as well as Liverpool and Wigan's home days that day. I must be missing something.

Those three were on Sunday to avoid a clash with the cup final, no idea why the Fulham one is being moved again though.

On the First Anniversary (near enough)
The Annual Champions League Decider to be held between
Manchester City and Tottenham will take place on Tues May 10th
As expected it will be live on Sky
Newcastle v Man United will also be shown as well just three days after the Manchester Derby
The two Sunday Cup semi finalists have not yet found dates for their games to re arrange

Minor point: the TV games for the preceding weekend have not been announced yet. If either City or Spurs get moved to the Sunday, this game may well move to Weds May 11th.Judio wrote:Manchester City and Tottenham will take place on Tues May 10th

Not sure City would want that in case they are playing in the cup final on the following saturday (presume that is why they picked Tuesday).snout wrote:Minor point: the TV games for the preceding weekend have not been announced yet. Potential amendments
Five EPL fixtures have recently been moved to 12:45 on Sat 14 May (Cup Final day).
But depending on FA Cup SFs on 16-17 April, at least one will be rescheduled again:
Bbn v MU
Blp v BW
MC v SC
Sun v WW
WB v Ev
As posted yesterday, only United have made early contingency plans in this regard.
If they reach the Cup Final, the tie at Blackburn will be played on Tues 17 May.

who announce the possible switch.
I assume Sky would show Man City on Cup Final day if it was a Man United v Bolton Final ??

Manchester City vs Stoke now moved from Cup Final Day ( ) to the following Tuesday May 17th.

Blackpool v Bolton could still be moved if Bolton win today.

Harry wants it rearranged: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13130370.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The other team to miss out in any Man City / Stoke carve up would be Liverpool (if they finish 6th).
It would benefit Liverpool if Spurs came 4th. Now have a guess which 2 teams play each other oin the day after the cup final. Yep, Spurs and Liverpool.

So the Champions League Decider on Tuesday looks like it wont decide who will get 4th !!!
And now on Sunday the big Relegation match at Wigan is not being shown
And Sky will show Chelsea and Arsenal who will already know that the Title has been won
Good planning once again !!!

If Sky and co were allowed to leave it later to pick and choose which games to show (and move the kick off day/time of) then people would just moan about it being unfair on match going fans. They can't win.....Judio wrote:So the Champions League Decider on Tuesday looks like it wont decide who will get 4th !!!

Re: Re: Season 2010-11 * Weekly fixture schedule & amendment
It's been suggested elsewhere that they should have held all the games in two blocks - one at 1:30 and another at 4:00, so that Sky could have selected whichever they wanted. I'll never forget the final day when the West Ham-Spurs game wasn't shown yet the dead rubber United-Charlton was. I'm sure before long they'll end up showing all the games, it's ridiculous.Judio wrote:Yes but Wigan v West Ham has already been moved to Sunday at 4 !!!!

Sky are lucky this year as Man U are playing Blackpool so they can justify showing it for relegation purposes, and also the presentation of the trophyTacalabala wrote: It's been suggested elsewhere that they should have held all the games in two blocks - one at 1:30 and another at 4:00, so that Sky could have selected whichever they wanted.
