Just a curiosity - does anyone know why two championship fixtures from 21-22/8 were brought forward to earlier this week?

Yes

Nottingham Forest midweek Tue 21st clashed with Trent Bridge Test.
So they moved it to Tues 7th v West Brom

Then Sky picked Middlesbrough Friday 24th v West Brom

So Middlesbrough wanted same rest as West Brom before game

So they moved their Tue 21st game to the 7th as well

"Have you wondered why the date for Liverpool’s Caribao Cup tie with Chelsea has still not been announced?

It’s because of a dispute over the timing of the game along with Everton’s home match in the competition against Southampton. In normal circumstances one club would play on the Tuesday night and the other on Wednesday night, with it impossible for both sides to play at home on the same day.

With Everton taking on Arsenal on Sunday 23 September in a game screened live on Sky Sports, Blues bosses want the Southampton tie to take place on Wednesday 26 September.

And while Liverpool are happy to play their own fixture on either the Tuesday or the Wednesday, their opponents Chelsea’s own fixture list has complicated matters.

The London outfit are also in action in a televised game on Sunday, against West Ham United, and want their own Carabao Cup fixture to be played on the Wednesday too as a result to avoid playing twice in three days. "

May be old news but Man City v Soton on Sat 3 Nov (3pm) is expected to move to Sun 4 Nov (?PM), as a knock-on effect of the Spurs stadium fiasco. City are at Spurs that Monday then Fulham at home in Carabo Cup (Thurs 1st Nov).

https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-09- ... ier-league

The result? More p***ed off fans and the PL not giving a s***. Maybe they'll pull their w*****r's trick like last time and move a completely unrelated game (Utd v Eve) for the hell of it.

Current schedule for both clubs:

Man City v Fulham (Thurs 1 Nov?)

Premier League
Sat 3 Nov
Man City v Southampton (to move to Sun 4th?)
Wolves v Spurs (not changeable because Tues CL date is fixed?)

Champions League
Tue 6 Nov - Spurs v PSV Eindhoven
Wed 7 Nov - Man City v Shakhtar Donetsk
