2014-15: Fixture Changes Thread

Post by Judio »

While there is still plenty to play for in 2013/14, The Football League has announced more details of the 2014/15 campaign.

The League has confirmed fixtures for the next season will be released at 9am on Wednesday June 18.

The Football League announced the 2014/15 season would start on Saturday August 9.
The 2014/15 Barclays Premier League season will kick off on Saturday August 16

This is a week later than this season and will give clubs in League One and League Two seven midweek fixtures, clubs in The Championship will have 11 midweek games scheduled.

A draft schedule for the 2014/15 season includes games on Boxing Day, December 26, and December 28 but no game on New Year’s Day, January 1, as FA Cup Third Round Day is Saturday January 3.

The season’s final regulation fixture comes on Saturday 2nd May 2015, with the Play-Off Finals over the Spring bank holiday weekend, starting with the League 2 Final on Saturday 23rd May. The League 1 Final takes place on the 24th, followed by the Championship Final on Monday 25th May

That PDF download from the FA confirms the Community Shield date as Sunday 10th August.

Which will be Man City versus Arsenal or Huill.

The fixtures for next season are out.

Week 1

Arsenal - C Palace
Burnley - Chelsea
Leicester - Everton
Liverpool - Southampton
Man U - Swansea
Newcastle - Man C
QPR - Hull
Stoke - A Villa
West Brom - Sunderland
West ham - Spurs

I bet Moyes is annoyed at Man U's opening fixtures (Swansea, Sunderland, Burnley, QPR, Leicester, West Ham). No disrespect to those clubs but it's a nicer start for LVG than it was for Moyes!!

Just when you thought the TV games had been announced ......

http://www.islingtontribune.com/news/20 ... gainst-nei" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

POLICE and the Premier League are locked in urgent discussions over Arsenal’s early-season fixture list which sees a raft of high-profile matches – including two London derbies – kicking off late on a Saturday afternoon.

It is understood there are fears that the combination of football fans having all day to drink, and then spilling out into crowded Saturday night streets at about 7.30pm, poses a significant risk of crime and disorder after the matches.

Arsenal start the Premier League season on Saturday, August 16, playing south London team Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium with a 5.30pm kick-off.

Then, on September 27 they play local rivals Tottenham, again kicking off at 5.30pm. On Saturday, November 22, they host fierce Premier League rivals Man Utd with the same kick-off time.

All the games are high profile, but it is the Tottenham and Crystal Palace matches that worry police most

In a remarkable coincidence all three of the Premier League games which
would have to be moved again if the sides were in Champions League on the Tuesday
have all had Wednesday games chosen by UEFA

So
QPR v Liv
Mcy v MUn
Cry v Liv will not be moved

And also Qpr and Aston Villa have lost in League Cup so the MNF game in late October will go ahead
