21/22 DT - FIRST DRAFT

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well! Now that the lineups for 21/22 DT is out, this is what I am thinking to kick it off (0m ITB):

Pickford
AWB - Walker - Robertson
Grealish - Sterling - Fernandes - KDB
Salah - Son - Cavani

What does everyone think? Any suggestions/injuries I am unaware of? I was initially thinking of taking a punt on James Justin but not sure how far into recovery he is, along with Barnes

Haven’t looked at SDT yet but you can select that team within budget?

Just put those players into the Sky game and it’s £10.1m over budget.

Very easy to pick a good team on SDT, I put a team together earlier with Kane, Salah, Bruno and KDB and still wasn’t particularly lacking elsewhere.

Every season they seem to dumb down the prices & make it easier to get a top team,needs to be a bit more challenging imo

Would of thought Pickford will start the 1st game being a gk, can see Walker,Grealish & Sterling missing out & have read that kdb may miss gw1??

Grealish miss first game I doubt that. He’s the star player of villa and hardly played any minutes at the Euros. If I was Dean Smith I’d do the right thing and play him. I’m sure Jack won’t have a problem with that.

This team will change about 5/6 times before season starts.
1.No Kane
2.No money itb to upgrade
3.Transfers still to be done
4.Covid/Injuries

That’s looks fairly solid, obviously just keep an eye on the team news as to whether the England players will be back or not. I’d also possibly consider Cavani a rotation risk, I think signing Sancho will mean Greenwood gets more time as the number 9, I think this season is sort of where he takes over from Cavani.

Plenty of options in the 3-4m bracket that should give consistent points, JWP, Barnes, Wilson, Watkins etc

I think it’ll either be one of the two:

Pereira/Castagne - Evans - Soyuncu - Justin

Or more then likely a back 5 with wingbacks

I read somewhere that Cancelo's place could be under serious threat from Zinchenko....how much truth is in that i couldn't say??

I think that’s the problem with most City players, they have 2 good options for each position so you can never rely on your player playing. I think all fantasy football players have suffered from Peps rotation at some point.

I initially had Walker in my XI however with him playing every game in the Euro, I assume he might be subject to Pep rotation and for the first few games go with something like:

Cancelo - Dias - Laporte - Zinchenko

I like the last one, just bear in mind players returning to squad late. Pick fixtures and couple of punts as 5 transfers to build your squad and you need kane when hes back

If Rashford goes under the knife then Greenwood will get plenty of game time. He’s certainly one who is interesting me.

Apparently Foden seen in a protective boot, shakermeister mentioned in a previous thread, so Sterling could start?

Is Son worth having over Kane to begin with or do people think Kane will start straight away since Spurs are practically dead in attack without Kane?
