Yesterday we published a Fantasy Football article about our team for the GW24 Midweek Monster from FanTeam. We made a couple of late changes to our line-up in the hour prior to the first kick-off based on the starting team news for the Tuesday evening matches so our team now looks like this:

Whilst we correctly predicted that Crystal Palace would come down to earth (after their great weekend result against Man City) and lose to Southampton we didn’t quite get the 3 Southampton players right. McCarthy and Armstrong scored well but we could have done with Redmond rather than Shane Long. We had brought the cheaper Long in for Ings (who was benched) which enabled us to upgrade Praet for Maddison.

Our two Everton defenders were looking very good for their clean sheet points and then two goals from Newcastle’s Lejeune in the closing moments of injury time blew those points away.

So we’re sat about half-way (1,235 of 2,490 entries) with 5 players to play tonight, including our captain Martial. Our aim is to finish inside the top 20% (i.e. in the top 500) to share some of the prize fund. A couple of goals from Martial would be gratefully received, although thanks to Lejeune our chances of finishing in the top 100 seem very unlikely.
