Scuba Diving in Gozo (Malta, Southern Mediterranean)

http://www.divemalta-gozo.com/

Scuba Kings

Experience paradise on a different level - explore the underwater beauty of the Maltese islands with Scuba Kings (formerly known as ScubaTech Gozo) and it need not cost a fortune. With new gear, first-class diving, and a dedicated personal service, you’ll enjoy the diving holiday of a lifetime with Scuba Kings.

Scuba Kings are a small, family run business situated in the centre of Marsalforn, Gozo, on the seafront, with direct access to the sheltered waters of Marsalforn Bay. They are a registered PADI resort, fully licensed by the Malta Tourism Authority and are open seven days a week from the start of March to the end of November. They cater for people who want a more personal service that can be best offered by a small centre. They offer guided dives in groups of 5 customers per guide going where the customers want to go, when they want to go there (safety permitting).

With return flights from under £100 and only three hours flying time from northern Europe and the U.K, Gozo is one of the best diving locations in Europe. Situated just off the coast of Malta in the heart of the southern Mediterranean, Gozo is an ideal holiday location for divers of all levels. The island has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere being surrounded by clear blue waters that harbour a prolific sea life and spectacular underwater topography.

With the island being only 1/3 of the size of Malta, nothing is far away. This is great for diving as, if you are very unlucky and there are strong winds, your holiday is not spoilt, as it would be in mainland locations. This is because sheltered conditions on the far side of the island are at worst only a 20 minute drive away, always giving us somewhere good to dive. Gozo has a wonderful climate, beaches and a rich heritage. English is the main language and cars drive on the left side of the road, giving Gozo a sense of home away from home for the British holidaymaker.

The dive sites include the world famous Blue Hole and Inland Sea. Cathedral Cave, Reqqa Point, Double Arch Reef, Xlendi Cave, Fungus Rock are also exceptional. There is also a project underway to sink two frigates to add to the purpose sunk ferry, as underwater attractions.

Marsalforn is the major resort on Gozo, the location for the Scuba Kings dive centre and also a great place to stay. With over 30 licensed restaurants and plenty of bars, there is no shortage of choice for nights out. With a meal in a restaurant costing from as little as Lm 1.80(£3.00) and a pint of beer from Lm 0.50 (£0.80) it's a great place to eat out and enjoy the relaxed après-dive evenings.

Scuba Kings have an extensive knowledge of the range of accommodation on offer in Marsalforn and provide a free advice service to their customers. Reservations can be made for you, to take away the hassle and the risk of getting something below expectations. Accommodation is good value, with a good 2 *+, sea view 2 bed apartment that sleeps 4 starting from Lm 66 (£105) per week in low season to Lm 108 (£175) in peak season. Hotel and bed and breakfast accommodation is also excellent on Gozo, with a wide selection being available to suit every budget. Book early to avoid disappointment and have an unforgettable diving holiday to look forward to.

All prices are in quoted Maltese Liri, which at February 2006 is roughly

LM1.0 = £1.60=€2.33=USD2.83
