are 2 types of transactions:
The "Waiver Wire" - You may
drop a player from your roster, and pick up an available player who is not
on a roster. You must make a bid for the desired player, and the
highest bidder will be awarded that player. The minimum bid is $3.00.
Trading - You may negotiate a trade
with any other team. The number of players or draft picks is not
limited, but must be player for player, draft pick for draft pick. Cost
is $3.00 per player/draft pick, per team. The deadline for trading
is August 1st.
THE PARTY.
All funds collected throughout the season will go towards the "End of
the Year Gala Event". The Australian Team then pairs off against
a team of Americans playing the exact same game for a Fantasy Presidents
Cup. Each side brings 10 "teams" to the match, and the
competition takes place during the entire 32 week Fantasy season.
The first 16 weeks are played as the "1st Round", or 1st set of
matches. Each weekly PGA Tour event is treated as 1 hole
played, with the total weekly score for each team going against their
opponent's total weekly score. Scoring is standard Match Play
throughout the competition. Each match is worth 1 point, with ties
awarding 1/2 point to each side. The first round will be worth 10 total
points.
After the first round is complete, the
Captain of the team that is losing will assign the matches for the
"2nd round", or the last 16 weeks of the Fantasy season. A
total of 10 points are available in this second round, making the total
available points for the competition 20. Team USA will need only 10 total
points to retain the cherished Cup, while Team Australia will need a
minimum of 10 1/2 points to bring the Cup down-under. While the Cup
competition is played primarily for fun and pride, the losing team is
required to send a "Champion's Box" to the winners.
