- Dave
Pelz's Putting Bible - by Dave Pelz. Former Nasa scientist, Dave
Peltz, has produced a best selling (over 250,000 copies sold in the US
in six months) golf book by calculating the physics of the perfect golf
put. Follow his guides on the best way to put uphill, downhill and flat,
taking into account the grain of grass and players' footprints.
Apparently the optimum impact point on the ball is 4/10ths of the way up
the ball!
- Dave
Pelz's Short Game Bible - by Dave Pelz, Lee
Janzen Dave Pelz's approach to golf is easy to understand: 30 per cent
of the strokes golfers lose to par are determined by their play within
100 yards of the green ( the crucial scoring game). The most important
and yet the least-focused-on aspect of golf, your short game, can make
or break you.
- Into
the Bear Pit - by Mark James The cover is as
telling as the words inside: jubilant members of the 1999 US Ryder Cup
team dance across the 17th green at Brookline celebrating what they
think is victory. Jose Maria Olazabal, meanwhile, stands stunned waiting
to attempt to sink a putt that could keep the European side in the
match.
- The Majors: In Pursuit of Golf's Holy Grail -
John Feinstein once again steps up to take a
swing at golf. Also wrote A Good Walk Spoiled which chronicles the pressures and tensions of
a full season on the PGA Tour.
- How to Play Your Best Golf All the Time - by Tommy Armour - a
great instructionary book- refer to it before you pick up your clubs again!
- Golf Rules Illustrated
- by Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St
Andrews.
- The Golf Swing
- by David Leadbetter. This work covers each
separate aspect of the golf swing, using a series of drills, links and cues.
- Michael Parkinson on Golf - by Michael Parkinson. It is often
forgotten that Michael Parkinson first came to notice as an outstanding sports writer.
After years of focusing on football, he was eventually won over to golf.
- Faults and Fixes
- by David Leadbetter. What every golfer
needs, regardless of their ability, is a faultfinder guide and a series of straightforward
solutions.
