Fantasy League Golf
April 6th sees the start of the new season for Fantasy League Golf.
This is a very popular golf game with some great prizes to win.
Fantasy League Golf returns unspoilt for 2006...
Armed with a budget of $20m, simply select your team of 12 golfers
from the player list, ensuring that your squad consists of 5
Americans, 4 Europeans and 3 Rest of the World players.
At any point, six golfers within your team are active players and
the other six act as non-playing reserves.
The first counting event is The Masters Tournament, starting at
13:00 BST on Thursday, April 6, with unlimited team changes
available before this time.
During the season you can make up to 25 transfers and unlimited
substitutions in order to insert the in-form players to represent
your team in the active six slots. Then it's up to them to do the
business on the course whilst you sit back and watch as the points
hopefully roll in!
Also, if you've got some friends, clients or colleagues to whom
you'd like to prove that you know more about the wonderful world of
golf than they do, then our Challenge A Mate and Friends & Enemies
League facilities offer you the ideal opportunity to set up some
direct competition.
Once again, all entrants can enter the additional Head to Head game
with even more fantastic prizes up for grabs. This is a totally
separate game to the main competition and is free to play for all
entrants in the main game.
The full game costs just £15 for 31 weeks of intense action, with
the complete season comprising over 50 tournaments on the European
and US Tours.
So make sure you reserve your place on the first tee for another
action-packed season of Fantasy Golf!

for how to enter.
Fantasy Golf 2006 Rules
All entries are conducted online. Only one entry allowed per person.

David Tonkin's Monthly Premiership Review
As we move into the final 6 weeks of the season there's still a
great deal for many teams to play for, whilst most teams have 6 or 7
games still to play Arsenal will have to play 12 more if they're to
become European Champions and Middlesbrough could play another 16
games (including the UC QF 1st leg tonight) if they can go all the
way in both cups. As unlikely as it may seem, it is possible that
Arsenal could miss out on Europe totally next season if they don't
keep the current good league form going. I'm sure that all except
for the most partizan supporters of rival clubs will be rooting for
both them and Middlesbrough to pick up the trophies in the final
week of the season.
Now that Chelsea's lead at the top has been cut to 9 points a loss
or a couple of draws in the next few games could still make for a
nail-biting finsih to the season if Man U can keep winning. Or a
couple of poor results for Man U and Liverpool could close up again
for 2nd place and automatic qualification for next season's CL group
stage.
4th to 7th places look to be between Spurs, Bolton, Arsenal and
Blackburn in any order but Wigan and West Ham or even possibly
Charlton or Everton could still catch one or more of them in the run
in. I'm assuming that if Middlesbrough win the UEFA Cup and make the
FA Cup final then 7th place gets the final UEFA spot for next
season, fielding a weakened team against Portsmouth may come back to
bite West Ham on the backside!
Mathematically Sunderland can still survive, but asking for 7 wins
on the trot from a team that's only managed 2 league wins all season
maybe a little to much to ask for! Realistically it's any 2 from
West Brom, Birmingham and Portsmouth to go down with them as two of
them would have to get a minimum of 4 wins to possibly put Villa or
Fulham in trouble.
With the season winding down it's possible that some players will be
looking ahead to the WC and not take the risk of going in for 50-50
challenges, even if their teams still have something to play for.
All matches left this season are given for each team, fixtures that
will be or might be moved are marked with (*) and possible cup
matches have a (?), keep an eye on the fixture changes thread for
updates. April fixtures first then a "-" followed by May's fixtures
for each team, some of those marked (*) could be played in either
month depending on cup results.
Chelsea 78 +41 (wWlW) - Birmingham (a) West Ham (h) Bolton (a)
Everton (h) Liverpool (FA SF) Man U (h) - Blackburn (a) Newcastle
(a) FA Final?
A few notable issues in the last month, FA charges for failing to
control their players in the 2 away matches, exiting the CL without
even trying to make a fight of it and Drogba finally realizing what
most of us already knew, he needs an edge to make up for his poor
control with his feet! In using his hands he's caused problems for
team mates and opponents alike and another result of his actions
could be that refs will rule against him rather than risk being
caught out by further gamesmanship (cheating if you prefer) that
could lead to more points dropped, more confrontations with the
officials and more FA charges. Home form remains excellent but just
the one win from the last 6 competitive away fixtures. The key
league fixture is clearly the Man U game, a win in that and 2 others
and the title will be retained, but if points are dropped in a
couple of games beforehand and that one is lost .........
Man U 69 +33 (wWwWW) - Bolton (a) Arsenal (h) Sunderland (h) Spurs
(a) *Middlesbrough (h)* Chelsea (a) - Charlton (h)
The 5 EPL wins in March takes their run to 7 consecutive league
wins, the last 3 homes all being CSs and cutting the gap to Chelsea
by 6 points in the process. Clearly a much tougher run in than
Chelsea ahead of them and Liverpool behind them but they're
definitely good enough to create scoring chances in most of these
but perhaps they don't put as many in the net as they should and
that could ultimately cost them points and possibly even 2nd place.
Liverpool 64 +23 (DlWwW) - West Brom (a) Bolton (h) Blackburn (a)
Chelsea (FA SF) *West Ham (a)* Villa (h) - Portsmouth (a) FA Final?
Perhaps there's been a slight change in approach over the last few
weeks to become less defensive and more attacking, 11 scored in
their last 3 EPL matches, 12 scored in the previous 12 and it's 4
EPL matches without a CS. The trip to Blackburn looks to be the most
(only?) troublesome league fixture, the Cup match is a cup match,
anything can happen.
Spurs 55 +16 (WlwW) - Newcastle (a) Man C (h) Everton (a) Man U (h)
Arsenal (a) Bolton (h) - West Ham (a)
The home form remains very good whilst the away form is barely ok,
can they hold onto that 4th spot? They're not great defensively and
still leak the odd goal or two here and there and that could cost
them dearly with some very competitive looking games to come, they
may well need to rely on others dropping points elsewhere to stay in
the race for any of the euro spots.
Blackburn 52 +6 (lWWw) - Wigan (h) Portsmouth (a) Liverpool (h)
Birmingham (a) Charlton (a) - Chelsea (h) Man C (h)
Not a bad looking set of fixtures to finish with, the stronger teams
have to visit them at Ewood where they've won their last 5,
Liverpool may well be thinking more about the FA semi and Chelsea
could have the title wrapped up by the time they come. It's not
beyond reason for them to keep their current run going and take that
4th spot.
Arsenal 50 +25 (wWW) - Villa (h) Juventus (CL-a) Man U (a)
*Portsmouth (a)* West Brom (h) *Man C (a)* CL SF1(h)? Spurs (h) CL
SF2(a)? - Sunderland (a) Wigan (h) CL Final?
An excellent month without question, disposing of Real Madrid,
beating Liverpool and taking a strong lead over Juventus. The trip
to OT will be very interesting and how hard a game they have earlier
that week in Turino could have a bearing. The visit of Spurs could
be a massive game for both clubs in terms of final league placing
and perhaps not ideal timing as it's sandwiched between the probable
CL SF legs against either Inter or Ajax, again the CL tie could
influence team selection and focus.
Bolton 48 +10 (lWWl) - Man U (h) Birmingham (a) Liverpool (a)
Chelsea (h) West Brom (a) *Charlton (h)* Spurs (a) - *Middlesbrough
(h)* Birmingham (h)
Their home form remains strong but to find their last EPL away
victory you have to look back to mid-December. If they win their
games in hand they'd be just one point behind Spurs in the chase for
4th but they'll need to take something off at least one of the clubs
they want to join in next season's CL and probably beat most of the
rest, including Spurs, to get there, possible but unlikely in my
view.
Wigan 46 -2 (LwwL) - Blackburn (a) Birmingham (h) Newcastle (a)
Villa (h) Fulham (a) Portsmouth (h) - Arsenal (a)
A very good first season in the top flight from a well organized
outfit, a couple of tough away fixtures here along with several
games that they could do well in. Euro qualification is still
possible as some of those above them have much harder fixtures ahead
of them but they'll need to find not just their first home win of
2006, they'll need their first 3 and away points too, possible.
West Ham 45 +0 (DlLwl) - Charlton (h) Chelsea (a) Man C (h)
Middlesbrough (a) Charlton/ Middlesbrough (FA SF) *Liverpool (h)* -
West Brom (a) Spurs (h) FA Final?
The good run that they had in January and February left them as
strong challengers for european qualification, but a poor March has
undone much of the good work. Their priorities were shown by the
fielding of a weakened team between cup matches and it wouldn't be a
surprise if players were again rested ahead of the semi. They're
capable of giving anyone a decent game on their day but perhaps
they're not going to be pushing too hard in the league games from
now on..
Everton 43 -12 (dWWl) - Sunderland (h) Charlton (a) Spurs (h)
Chelsea (a) Birmingham (h) Middlesbrough (a) - West Brom (h)
Safe in mid-table, unbeaten at home in 2006, winning all 6 EPL
matches, but nothing particularly noteworthy away from home. The two
most important looking matches could influence matters at either end
of the table, home to Spurs and West Brom.
Charlton 42 -5 (dWlW) - West Ham (a) Everton (h) Middlesbrough
(FA6r-a) Fulham (a) Portsmouth (h) West Ham (FA SF)? *Bolton (a)*
Blackburn (h) - Man U (a) FA Final?
Unbeaten at home and no away victories since the turn of the year,
safe in mid-table and likely only to be concentrating on the FA Cup,
whilst they stay in it.
Man C 40 +2 (WlLl) - Middlesbrough (h) Spurs (a) West Ham (a)
Arsenal (h) Villa (a) Fulham (h) - Blackburn (a)
Not a particularly inspiring season, safe in mid-table as they have
been for most of it, yet to pick up an away point in 2006, the home
form is okish.
Newcastle 39 -7 (WlLl) - Spurs (h) Middlesbrough (a) Wigan (h)
Sunderland (a) West Brom (h) Birmingham (a) - Chelsea (h)
The improved form following the sacking of Souness didn't last long
but was enough to ensure their safety. There should be some points
in here but maybe not enough for any of their players to be relied
on.
Middlesbrough 37 -9 (WllW) - Man C (a) Basle (UC QF2-h) Newcastle
(h) Charlton (FA6r-h) Portsmouth (a) West Ham (h) UC SF1-a? West Ham
(FA SF)? *Man U (a)* UC SF2-h? Everton (h) - *Bolton (a)* Fulham (a)
UC Final? FA Final?
Just the 16 possible games including tonight's away match against
Basle! They've done just enough in the league and should pick up a
few more points but clearly the best players will have to be rested
for the cups and may be of more use in FF comps that include both
comps rather than EPL only games.
Fulham 36 -11 (LllWd) - Portsmouth (h) Sunderland (a) Charlton (h)
Wigan (h) Man C (a) - Middlesbrough (h)
Home form good, away form abysmal, not the most difficult set of
fixtures so perhaps a few outfield players are worth a risk if
you're playing catch-up?
Villa 35 -7 (WllD) - Arsenal (a) West Brom (h) Birmingham (h) Wigan
(a) Man C (h) Liverpool (a) - Sunderland (h)
A poor season but they've done just enough, or at least it looks
like it. The 2 home derbies could help ensure that they're the only
Midlands club in the top flight next season and even if they lose
everything in April they finish the season at home to Sunderland.
West Brom 27 -19 (LdLl) - Liverpool (h) Villa (a) Arsenal (a) Bolton
(h) Newcastle (a) - West Ham (h) Everton (a)
Could well need just one more win to stay up, obviously waiting for
the last day of the season again.
Birmingham 24 -21 (lDLl) - Chelsea (h) Bolton (h) Wigan (a) Villa
(a) Blackburn (h) Everton (a) Newcastle (h) - Bolton (a)
Well, they scored a goal against West Brom in March and got ripped
to shreds by Liverpool in the cup. Will they get another goal this
season???
Portsmouth 24 -27 (lWw) - Fulham (a) Blackburn (h) *Arsenal (h)*
Middlesbrough (h) Charlton (a) Sunderland (h) Wigan (a) - Liverpool
(h)
Winning their 2 latest has given them a fighting chance and they
will have had a 2 week rest between fixtures before facing Fulham. 2
wins and a draw could well be enough to save themselves, the January
signings appear to be "gelling" and they have a degree of
self-belief and confidence and could well cause problems for most of
their opponents.
Sunderland 10 -36 (lLlL) - Everton (a) Fulham (h) Man U (a)
Newcastle (h) Portsmouth (a) - Arsenal (h) Villa (a)
2 goals scored in 2 months, still without a home league win, never
stuffed but almost always just not good enough for 90 minutes, but
clearly not good enough to be in the EPL.

Fantasy Golf Manager 2006
Fantasy Golf Game Rules
Fantasy Golf 2006 is based on 28 key European Tour Events from the
Masters on April 6th 2006 until the and will run through to the
Volvo Master on October 26th 2006. Please select 'Tournament Rounds'
to view events included.
There will be two practice events to ease you into the game and get
a good idea of the points system and the way to manage your team.
The two practice rounds will be 'The Masters', which takes place on
April 6th - 9th 2006 and the 'Volvo China Open', which takes place
on April 13th - 16th 2006. On April 5th at 17.00 BST, if you have
fully built your team, your team will be automatically submitted and
will score practice points. You will then receive a practice points
update. If you join between the Masters and the Volvo China Open,
your fully built team will then be submitted on the 12th April at
17.00 BST, and will then start scoring practice points.
Your team will then be re-set on April 19th at 17.00 BST and will be
eligible to score 'real' points starting with the 'BMW Asian Open'.

categories themselves ascend in order of rank i.e. Golfers in Group
A are of a higher rank than the Golfers in Group B.
1 x Bonus Event: You can choose one event from the 26 'scoring'
events the game is based on. Any points that the Golfers on your
selected team score during this event are doubled. If you select
The Masters or the Volvo China Open as your bonus course, you will
need to re-select a new course for the start of the real points
scoring.
2. Name Your Team

players must complete all rounds in the tournament being played to
score fantasy points. The below tables outlines how points are to
