With the 2005/06 Fantasy Football season just around the corner (the SPL kicks off on Saturday and the EPL two weeks later) perhaps it is time to remind you of the Ten Commandments put together by the inhabitants of the FISO Fantasy Sports Forum, before we go through a run down of the 2005/06 Fantasy Football games to launch so far.

The 10 Commandments:

1. Thou shalt always read the rules thoroughly.
2. Thou shalt covet thy transfers, and shalt not Tinker.
3. Thou shalt pick a balanced team, and maintain flexibility in all positions.
4. Thou shalt, however, pick Thierry Henry
5. Thou shalt not worship 'Carlos Kickaball' until he has proven himself in the EPL.
6. Thou shalt remember that Form is Temporary, Class is permanent.
7. Thou shalt not let thy heart rule thy head, nor make any judgements after drinking !
8. Thou shalt not enter thy team earlier than reasonably required.
9. Thou shalt remember that Fantasy Football is more akin to a Marathon, than a Sprint
10. Thou shalt remember that all commandments are there to be broken

3. Original Fantasy League (OFL) Classic has been launched and with unlimited transfers right up to the season start there is no reason not to get your entry in now. The format of OFL will pitch you into an exciting head to head competition if you can survive the initial league stages. For more information see our OFL forum - http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=7

4. Sun DreamTeam - the biggest UK Fantasy Football game is back with a huge £300,000 prize pool and some tricky decisions to be made to squeeze 11 players into your team. 5. The Times' TheFantasyGame (TFG) - gone are the Celtic and Rangers players and even though the price is only £5 a team (or £20 for 5 teams) the prize pool is their biggest ever at £200,000 (and includes some great super league prizes). You gain a free entry voucher to their separate £20,000 top prize Champions League game in 2006 with each entry. For more comment see - http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=5

6. The Herald's 2005/06 game is launched with a number of game changes including an increase in prize fund and making the game pay to play. Act quick because the game starts at 11:30am this Saturday (30th July). For more details see - http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1311

7. You The Manager (Mirror & Racing Post) - the pretender to the Sun DreamTeam's throne has put a £275,000 prize pool together including an enticing £10,000 monthly prize. An extra transfer window has been added to make 4 in all. Can You be the 'You The Manager' 2005/06 winner? Pop into this forum for some help - http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=11

8. Premierleague.com's 2005/06 game is launched and here are the rule changes - http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1298

9. Daily Record's 2005/06 game launched with 4 transfer windows this time. To score from the start of the SPL season then your team needs to be entered by 12:00pm (midday) on Saturday July 30th - http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=17

10. Star Fantasy Football is all go for 2005/06 with very little changes to last season's rules and a £43,000 prize pool including plenty of weekly prizes -  http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=12

11. Guardian Fantasy Chairman - modeled on a stocks and shares system the Guardian's game offers an alternative Fantasy Football game but close attention is required - http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=16

And if the above 11 games don't provide enough competition and enjoyment for you then why not have a look at other Fantasy Football games mentioned on these two FISO forums - http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=18 & http://fiso.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=19

Good luck for the new season.
