September. The BlueSquare game is run by Fantasy League Ltd and

which is a very simple process - there is no obligation to place any

changes up until 12:30 that day.

To join FISO's mini-league please use League PIN: 1249 after going
to 'Private League' from your team page.

How To Play:

Picking Your Team
Simply select your 11-man team from the player list. Your team must
contain no more than 2 players from any single Premiership team.
Your team must conform to either a 4-4-2 formation or 5-3-2
formation. A 4-4-2 formation comprises one goalkeeper, two
centrebacks, two fullbacks, four midfielders and two strikers. A
5-3-2 formation comprises one goalkeeper, three centrebacks, two
fullbacks, three midfielders and two strikers.

The total cost of your team cannot exceed the £50m budget.

Scoring Points
Points are awarded to players during the Premiership season
according to the following set criteria. In addition to goals scored
and conceded, we also award points for clean sheets and assists. A
clean sheet occurs when a team does not concede a goal during a
match. An assist is recorded when a player passes directly to a team
mate who goes on to score a goal.

Event Points Details
Goal 3 pts
Assist 2 pts
Goalkeeper/Defender Appearance 1 pt (must play 45 mins or more)
Goalkeeper/Defender Clean Sheet 3 pts (must play 75 mins, inc. 1 pt
for appearance)
Goalkeeper/Defender Goal Against -1 pt

Goals are those officially attributed by the Press Association (PA).
Fantasy League will not overrule this source in any circumstances.
Fantasy League can amend only goals that are overruled by PA within
24 hours.

Assists are awarded to the player who makes the last pass before a
goal is scored. There is, however, an exceptional situation where an
assist may not be awarded. This occurs when the last touch before a
goal is scored does not significantly alter the speed or direction
of the ball. This will typically occur for flick-on headers - a
common result of corner kicks, long throws and goal kicks. In this
instance, two separate assists are given - one for each of the
players setting up the goal.

If the last touch before a goal is scored is by an opposing player
and it significantly alters the speed or direction of the ball, then
no assist is given. There is no assist given to a player earning a
direct free kick if a goal arises directly from it.

When a penalty is awarded, the player fouled earns an assist if the
penalty is subsequently converted. If the penalty is for a handball
on a goal-bound shot - which has already passed the goalkeeper -
then the player taking the shot is awarded the assist. If the player
earning the assist scores the penalty no assist is given. If a
goalkeeper parries a penalty and the penalty taker scores from the
rebound then the assist remains. If a different player converts the
rebound then the penalty taker gets the assist.

The decision of Fantasy League will be final on all these matters.

Appearance Points
Appearance points are awarded to any goalkeeper or defender who is
on the pitch for at least 45 minutes - including extra-time.
Goalkeepers and defenders who appear in only part of a game will
lose one point per goal conceded while they are on the pitch.
Accordingly, a player who completes a game and concedes one goal
will score no points. A player who completes thirty minutes of a
game and concedes one goal will be deducted one point.
If a player completes 75 minutes or more of a game before he is
substituted - and no goals are conceded whilst he's on the pitch -
then that player will be awarded two extra points for a clean sheet.

RULE CHANGE - New for the 2004/05 season!
Goalkeepers and defenders receiving red cards can now lose points
after they are sent off. If a player is sent off and his team
concedes goals after his dismissal, he continues to lose the points
that his teammates do.

If the goalkeeper / defender is sent off and his team keep a clean
sheet then, as previously, he keeps the points as at the time he was
sent off.

Transfers
If your chosen team isn't performing to your satisfaction it's easy
to make changes to your playing squad. You are allocated 20
transfers during the Premiership season that you can use to change
your selected players. To ensure that you use your resources wisely,
there is a limit of 5 transfers permitted each month.
Transfers can be made at any time except within 15 minutes either
side of a match. You cannot make transfers less than 15 minutes
before the start of a match, as this is when we check who is in your
team. If a match is taking place while you make transfers, these
simply take effect for the next match.

To make a transfer, simply go to your team screen and click on the
Team Changes button. You should the follow the prompts displayed on
the screen. You can make unlimited changes to your team before the
start of your season.

Each Friday you'll receive an email from us giving you the
availability status of the players in your team. This will help you
make those crucial transfers ahead of the weekend's fixtures.

David Tonkin's September Premiership Review
The first month has passed, Arsenal again are scoring at 4 goals a
game whilst Chelsea are looking to accumulate 20+ clean sheets,
already being viewed as a two horse race, which philosophy will be
successful? As far as the FF manager goes, surely both will do
nicely! Bolton are building on last season's success and along with
Spurs and Middlesbrough are early candidates to challenge for
European spots. Man U, Liverpool and Newcastle are early
disappointments for both their fans and FF managers. Palace,
Norwich, Southampton and Blackburn could well be in for a long, hard
season at the foot of the table.

Arsenal 12 +11 (wWWw) - Fulham (a) Bolton (h) Man C (a) normal
service continues! Played 4, won 4, scored 16, Henry, Pires and
Reyes racking up the FF points, it has to end sometime but there's
no sign it'll be in the near future. Can anyone stop them scoring
let alone even think about actually beating them? It would be no
surprise should any or all of this month's opponents take a lead
against them but as they showed against Middlesbrough they have
higher gears to use when needed.

Chelsea 12 +5 (WwwW) - Villa (a) Spurs (h) Middlesbrough (a) their
best ever start to a season in the top flight with 4 wins out of 4,
defensively very sound again (barring the odd suicidal back-pass)
and whilst there's been much criticism of the style of play (or lack
of it!) any FF manager with Cech, Ferreira, Bridge or Terry will be
looking forward to the points from another 20+ clean sheets this
season. Those with either of the rotating Gallas and Carvalho may
only be looking at 10 each! (which will still probably outscore the
majority of other CBs in most comps.) Another interesting month
ahead, clearly capable of 3 more wins to nil, but as with Arsenal,
surely they've got to fail sooner or later?

Bolton 9 +3 (WlwW) - Man U (h) Arsenal (a) Birmingham (h) definitely
looking to build on last season and with Okocha in rich form you've
got to give them serious consideration in all their matches, even
maybe at Highbury! Just 7 points off 4th last season after a poor
start and a few lack lustre performances whilst they concentrated on
the League Cup, another good month here and see a lot more FF teams
fill with their players.

Spurs 8 +2 (DwdW) - Norwich (h) Chelsea (a) Man U (h) the new
manager has clearly done something right, unbeaten in 4 low scoring
matches, an interesting season ahead perhaps?

Middlesbrough 7 +1 (DlwW) - Birmingham (h) Everton (a) Chelsea (h)
much more potent with Hasselbaink and Viduka up front, could win all
3 of these.

Aston Villa 7 +1 (WdlW) - Chelsea (h) Norwich (a) Palace (h) not as
solid defensively as expected so far, the two home victories were
against sides that appear to lack the ability to defend. You'd
expect them to take points from the promoted sides but will they try
to outscore Chelsea or try to shut them out?

Everton 6 +0 (LwW) - Man C (a) Middlesbrough (h) Portsmouth (a) do
the wins against two of the promoted sides count as very early
season 6 pointers in the relegation fight? I think these matches
will show whether they're going to be mid-table or season long
strugglers. No Rooney and no time to spend the money until January.

Charlton 6 -3 (lWWl) - Southampton (h) Birmingham (a) Blackburn (h)
showing good form at home and that should continue, 8 goals conceded
away could point to a newfound dislike of travelling that could last
the season.

Man U 5 +0 (lWdD) - Bolton (a) Liverpool (h) Spurs (a) the lack of
depth in the squad is showing and I don't see just what buying
another striker will do for them, the problems seem to lie behind
the front line. Could easily struggle horribly this month.

Man C 4 +2 (DllW) - Everton (h) Palace (a) Arsenal (h) they'll be
expected to win the first 2 and we could be in for a very high
scoring match against Arsenal, Anelka, Fowler and Wright-Phillips
could even outscore Henry & Co!

Portsmouth 4 +0 (DlW) - Palace (h) Blackburn (a) Everton (h) good
chances of a couple of wins here, how many will be bringing Yakubu
in following his hatrick?

Liverpool 4 +0 (dWl) - West Brom (h) Man U (a) Norwich (h)
challengers this season or not? Too early to tell, the manager has
said 4 -5 months to get them into shape but meanwhile 2 homes wins
will be expected this month and maybe something from their trip to
OT?

Fulham 4 -1 (dWLl) - Arsenal (h) West Brom (a) Southampton (h) many
FF teams have selected their defenders which might not be a great
move this time around, at least one clean sheet will be expected
this month.

Birmingham 4 -1 (dLWl) - Middlesbrough (a) Charlton (h) Bolton (a)
the attacking summer signings have yet to make any impact, just 2
scored and 3 conceded in their opening 4 matches could point to more
tight results in the near future whilst we wait for the infamous
"squad gelling". The away fixtures look tough whilst the home match
looks to provide a good opportunity to score more than one goal.

West Brom 3 -1 (dDDl) - Liverpool (a) Fulham (h) Newcastle (a)
taking an early lead to be the season's draw specialists, a couple
more from these would be good results.

Southampton 3 -3 (lWLl) - Charlton (a) Newcastle (h) Fulham (a)
failed to score in more games than anyone else last season and
looking quite likely to repeat the feat again this.

Newcastle 2 -3 (dLDl) - Blackburn (h) Southampton (a) West Brom (h)
another poor start to a season, this time it's got Robson the push.
Whoever takes over will have an interesting time of it trying to
impose discipline on a squad containing what appears to be some very
self-interested individuals and at the same time build a defence and
cure the fear of travelling, nevertheless wins will be expected from
these matches too.

Norwich 2 -4 (DldL) - Spurs (a) Villa (h) Liverpool (a) whilst not
holding out much hope for victories the fact that they've scored in
each match so far could gain them another point or two this month.

Blackburn 2 -4 (DllD) - Newcastle (a) Portsmouth (h) Charlton (a)
another season of poor performances and results ahead where they'll
again probably do just enough to stay in the division? Again this
season they look to be a side not to be relied upon and once more
any result is possible in any match.

Crystal Palace 1 -5 (dLLl) - Portsmouth (a) Man C (h) Villa (a)
heavily odds on to go down, they will pick up points here and there
throughout the season, will they get any this month?

Sun DreamTeam - 2 for 1 Offer is Back
The Sun's DreamTeam game have a '2 teams for the price of 1' offer
in place for late entrants to their game.

So for just £2.50 per team you can join the biggest UK Fantasy
Football game and whilst a season prize may be difficult to grasp at
this late stage there are plenty of weekly and monthly prizes within
reach. In fact with new players recently added to the game (see
below for a full list) and the rule on weekly wins (see below) a
late entry could stand a better chance than most of picking up a
monthly (£3,000) or weekly (£1,000) win.

Monthly wins are based on which team scores the most points in that
given month. For weekly wins the prize will be awarded to the team
that has moved up the highest number of places in the overall Dream
Team league after that particular week's results have been taken
into consideration - so a late entry should be favourite. Weekly
wins will be awarded from the week commencing Friday 17 September
2004 until the week ending Thursday 5 May 2005.

When entering a late team don't forget to join the FISO mini-league
- 8 teams have already shared in our £1,000 winnings for August
2004.

Victor Chandler - World Cup: England tipped to bounce back
England can wipe out the memory of Saturday's disappointing 2-2 draw
with Austria by securing three crucial World Cup qualifying points
in Poland on Wednesday night. That's the tip from Victor Chandler's
football expert, Nick Blezard, who believes that England keeper
David James' calamitous error has overshadowed what was an excellent
away performance in Vienna.

"If England produce another away effort like that they should win,"
said Blezard.

"James' clanger has blown the whole result out of proportion and
taken the shine off what was a great England display against very
difficult opponents.

"Poland are missing key strikers Emmanuel Olisadebe and Andrej
Niedzielan and will definitely struggle up front against a solid
England defence.

Poland warmed up for Wednesday's match with a 3-0 Group Six win
against Northern Ireland in Belfast on Saturday.

"The Poles surprised us with the margin of their victory but England
will be a different proposition.

Chandler make under pressure boss Sven Goran Eriksson's side 4/5 to
win in Katowice with Poland 11/4 and the draw is priced at 9/4.

To win Group Six

England 1/3
Poland 9/2
Wales 8/1
Austria 10/1
Azerbaijan 1,500/1
N.Ireland 2,000/1
All quoted.
Win only.
