Fantasy Football and F1 Games to Enter NOW! With
a number of new Fantasy Sports games starting in the next day or two we take a
quick look at those well worth entering, in order of entry deadline: The
Sun's F1 Dream Team 2002 -
entry deadline: midday Friday March 1 to score straight away
(but you can enter anytime during the F1 season). 1st
prize is a massive £50,000, with £20,000 for 2nd and £6,000 for 3rd and £3,000
for 4th. The 17 Grand Prix prizes are £1,000 each and there is a £4,000
mini-league prize (free to enter the mini-leagues). Pick 7 drivers and 4
constructors out of the 11 'groups' with scoring based on qualifying place, race
place, laps completed and extra points for manoeuvre of the day, pit
tactics and fastest pit stop. There
is a transfer window (3 changes during 'the pitstop' but at an extra charge of
£2.50) and race day prizes for participants regardless of where you are in the
standings. Entry by phone at 60p per minute (or online
at a cost of £5) and restricted to those aged over 18. Entry deadline midday
Friday 1 March 2002 to score from first Grand Prix but you can enter anytime
during the season. F1
Teamgame -
Entry deadline: 20:00 GMT Friday 1 March F1
Teamgame is a fantasy Formula One site based on actual results with over £15,000
in cash prizes on offer. Register a team name and password of your own choice
and enter that team into one of the paying membership games on offer. The
procedure is simple and user friendly. Squad
Selector -Entry deadline: midnight
Friday 1 March BUT there are 8 separate game periods (and 8 separate
prizes) so a late entry is still okay. The
game has been promoted in The Times and is run by DreamLeague. It is based on
English nationality Premiership players (so no Henry or Hasselbaink!) with no
monetary or club limits. The entry fee is £5 but free gifts worth £32 (free
bet and free England baseball cap) are given to every entrant. There
are 20 transfers available (no min/max each week) and the 11 man teams are
frozen each Friday at midnight. The top prize (trip to the England v Argentina
match in Japan) is kept for the final scoring week (April 27 to Fri May 3rd i.e.
Friday before FA Cup Final) so tactics with transfers is a big point here.
Premiership and FA Cup games count with points scored for goals, key
contributions, appearances, clean sheets and a Times rating mark out of 10. Fantasy
League F1 -
entry deadline: first warm up race starts 15 mins before the race green
light in Australia on Sunday 3rd March. Join
the FISO Friends and Enemies league by entering the PIN 203038 and applying to
join the F&E league. Select
a team of six drivers, one engine and a set of tyres from the respective
selection lists, ensuring that the total value of these selections does not
exceed the quota of $50m. Changes are unlimited for the duration of the warm-up
period, right up until the start of the Brazilian Grand Prix on 31st March 2002.
Only races 3 to 17 count towards the season's Fantasy League F1 championship and
the top prize of a Toyota MR2. Prizes,
courtesy of Toyota, are also on offer to winners of each Grand Prix weekend, the
warm up period and the top overall Friends & Enemies league (top 5 teams
scores to count). 2. FISO
