Rui, I didn't suppose you would feel offended by the word "nonsense". That was not my intention and it's not about you - it's about the definitions you wrote.
I respect you too and I'll say it again - it's nonsense to qualify someone as "not skillful" and "mediocre" just because he chooses an effective option you don't like. As Biscuitman and AkNotSpur say above - firstly, you have to be in a position to do it and be able to take the risk, and secondly, it's a tactic at the appropiate time.
However, we have and will have different opinions. IMO there ARE shortcuts in life sometimes but you must try hard to find them.
So finding an alternative way is a skill. Always.

Diyan, for me, in my life there isn´t shortcuts to success...maybe if it was me to go to a Man City mega block...they would never go to champions league and Stoke would win the cup...all my wins were harder but it gives more pleasure when it´s won that way.

Rui, I find that entering the amount of teams that you and Diyan enter each season is shortcutting the game but hey horses for courses I guess.

A shortcut to success is entering over 100 teams imo

Rui does talk nonsense at times. To say that one tactic is more skilful than another is simply bollox. What can be said is that those who kept several transfers in hand this season were lucky. This was because this season there was (i) a big opportunity to use those spare transfers sensibly AND (ii) the players which were the obvious use of those spare transfers delivered big time. In some seasons either the opportunities to use those spare transfers don't exist to the same degree that they did this year, or that those opportunities don't turn out to be that profitable. Next year it could well turn out to be a waste of transfers to keep several spare up to near the end of the season.

Mark played particularly well as at the death he was in with a chance with a multi club team AND one crammed with Man City players. In other words although he was not a large multi he used a tactical approach open to all those with several teams.

A large multi displaying as much skill as Mark should have been in a position to have trumped his pairing.

P.S. I've only used the word skill to be consistent with Rui's wording. Personally I don't think that there is ever much skill associated with playing fantasy football. If anyone wants to use a word to contrast with luck as the winning element, "judgement" is a more appropriate word in my opinion.

Fair play to the winners.
They made the right call at the right time, simple as that. To say it was an "easy obvious way" is very disingenuous and comes across as pure sour grapes.

Success at fantasy football is being able to make the right calls at the right time and obviously that’s what the winners done when it mattered most.

Its beyond belief that someone who was in contention decided to ignore as he says himself the "easy obvious way".

That was a very bad and foolish call.

Luck will always have a say in any fantasy football comp at the end. To say loading your team with Man City players is not skill is incorrect.
If you have transfers left at the end of any game, it surely makes sense to play players from a club that have more games to play than anybody else.
The luck part came with the amount of clean sheets they got compared with a shoddy Chelsea end of season defensive collapse.
I for one made a desision to always try and play with 11 men during the season due to the increase in transfers available.
My top side dropped from 5th to 27th in the last two weeks due to Citys defensive heroics.
Had Chelsea been more "Chelsea like" I could have won this along with the Star.
That is the way the cookie crumbles though and partly why this hobby of ours is so addictive.
