Thanks for the update Toffee.

Picks are becoming a bit tricker for me with no Kuchar, Furyk, Stricker etc. available :?

Up to 32nd place in the overall league (check out the overall leader's team name :P)

The Red Devils

Hopefully they're a minor league baseball team or something

What is interesting is that he has a 33 point lead, no minor achievement considering the huge numbers that have entered this game.

So how does he do it?

Here's a list of players he's selected over the last 6 weeks (some were used more than once):

Image

All fairly logical choices, he used the best players in the bigger tournaments, having to dig a little deeper for the Wyndham, Greenbrier and the Canadian.

The amazing fact is the number of starts remaining - the most no. of times he has used anyone is 6 times

With 3 events to go he will use no-one 10 times. That must have taken meticulous planning, very impressive as it obviously didn't cramp his point-scoring potential.

Also surprised he has only used Overton and Petterson once, Moore and Barnes twice and Marino not at all (he withdrew when picked for the Greenbrier).

Who the hell has he been picking for the prior 28 weeks

Very impresive indeed.

I reckon he's found a way to reset his picks!

OK, I've checked, his picks have been legit

In the first 4 tourns of the year he picked 32 different players :o

Looks like the plan has been to use each player only once in each 4 week stretch (in week 5 he re-uses 6 players for the 2nd time).

Oh, and an uncanny knack to pick the winner (16 times in 34 weeks  )!

Great research as usual Toffee :)

Looked back through some of Red Devil's selections too and he generally always sticks with the same four players for the first two rounds, if they all make the cut the third round as well and only changes his lineup in the final round if bonus points are possible. I guess that strategy increases his options at this stage of the season.

Look at his USPGA selections, he picked Harrington in the third round whom had already missed the cut :? He must have been in contention three weeks ago so why select a player whom couldn't score for you? Was he preserving his selections? or maybe didn't have web access?

Anyway he is ~140 points ahead of me with all selections open to him so I guess I won't be overtaking him anytime soon.

Obviously a baseball fan :P http://www.reddevilbaseball.com/

I'm sitting quite flush for the Fedex Cup as well, not that it will make much difference.....the only person I might have run out of was Furyk, but his DQ last week helpfully means he's a candidate for all remaining weeks.

I've got Stricker, Furyk, Kuchar and erm, Goosen at 3 starts. Mickelson at and Els at 6 are the other big names I guess.

Ho hum - been fun!

Rep to caddie567 for his 4th weekly win, which is enough to take him off the bottom :)

Am thinking of doing a "Paddy Power" and paying out the £65 to MU Fan before the competition ends.

It's been a truely exceptional effort, blasting us all away as the weeks have gone by :(

Colin is now up to an unbelievable 25th place overall

Well played!

Can he make the top ten in the two weeks that remain, that's the question?

Think I'm around 17 points away from the top 10, but a lot further from the top.

Not many weekly Fiso wins for me  but 32 out of a possible 35 top tens in our league is quite impressive :D

Zoolander and NevBlake have both had great Yahoo seasons too, with limited selection options for me will be interesting to see how close they both are by the end of the season :)

Think you can go and pay out the prize money Mr Toffee. With no cuts in the remaining events there is very little scope to make up any ground at all.

Even if ManU Fan selected 8 200-1 shots this week he would still do OK, maybe even better than the rest of us, unless they all got disqualified in the first round!!!

Only 1 week to go now boys!

Top marks to Chats Noir this week, with a whopping 242 points  , his 5th weekly win :o

MU Fan down to 31st overall :( , but still not doing bad

Reminder to all who entered the Bunker Mentality yahoo leagues, you could be in with a chance of a hol to Ireland :D

As you can see Padmole is in pole position in group 4, any of you others on top?

Please tell me you entered your team MU Fan!

Hi Toffee,

No I didn't enter my team into a bunker mentality league, guess I would have won whichever league I had entered

Still I have the prestige of winning the Fiso Yahoo League

Lucky draw at the weekend for the Toffee's eh

The final result:

Many congratulations Colin, EASY, EASY!

£65 will be winging its way to you once you let me know your preferred payment method

He can't be as lucky again next year can he boys?

Fair play to Caddie567 for racking up 239 points in the final week

How far up would that kind of score put you Colin?

Think may do small prizes for the Winter/Spring/Summer parts of the comp next year, just to keep us all interested a little longer!

Any other suggestions?

And well done again to Man United's #1 Fan, a finish in the top 100 overall is a truely exceptional performance :D

Thanks for the final update Toffee, plus the weekly updates throughout the season :P

In answer to your question, 239pts this week as Caddie567 scored would have given me 6,041 points in total and 6th place  Still I think 55th place overall is pretty good going.

Shows we have a very high standard in our league that I only managed two weekly wins throughout the entire 37 weeks.
