Some of you lot might be interested in entering this.

The bbc is running a short story competition for budding writers. Called My Story it is on the bbc web site.
There are a number of categories which you can submit a story.

My elderly mother has submitted an entry under humour, which recalls an incident from my boyhood entitled "My Guilty Secret".

If you guys fancy reading the story it is here http://www.bbc.co.uk/mystory/stories/humour/161174/
and even better if you give it a thumbs up it would make an old gal happy! :D

While some stories have 100's of votes - this one has one mine!

So please have a look!

Other short stories by other writers are available.

The story is true - we did move house but only a couple of streets not to a new town. The butcher boy did crash cos of riding while lookin over his shoulder!
The culprit was never caught.

I clicked on the thumb near the top but it stayed on 12 :?

I can't say I particularly liked it (or understood it - my generation wouldn't move for that) and it certainly wasn't humour but it was different!

Does update Murf but not instantly - it is the BBC you know!

If anyone reads other stories in the "humour" section then I think they will find that humour in the stories is about on par with the humour of "My Guilty Secret".

Its certan not to the standard of our Jokes forum!

Update now got 17 votes from 109 views - thanks guys! :D
