Used to love watching Worzel Gummidge as a wee nipper and have even bought the dvd boxset just to relive my youth and for children to have some decent childrens TV to watch of course.

I was just wondering as most programmes from the 70's and 80's are currently being reworked.

The A team film (which kinda worked)
Knight Rider (A god awful version with Michael Knights son)
Battlestar Gallactica (kinda worked but could'nt get my head around Starbuck being a girl).

Anyway if Worzel Gummidge was reworked for the modern age who would play the title characters.

Aunt Sally
The Crowman
Dolly Clothespegs
Sgt Beetroot

of course I don't think anyone could ever match Jon Pertwee's (RIP) Worzel.

Anyway at the top of my head I would go for the following.

Aunt Sally - Billie Piper
The Crowman - Noel Edmunds
Dolly Clothespegs - Samantha Janus
Sgt Beetroot - Bill Bailey
