After last night, does anyone else feel the same ?

I'm thinking it could be a good gamble to ditch him. Everyone else of course will still have him. But after last night and of course the problems with his Dad, I'm wondering whether he might not be the same Rooney that we have seen so far.

I'm going to have a good think about it and may drop him Monday.

Anyone else think the same ?

no england are crap and couldnt get the ball to rooney and every time we did he got tackled which gets him frustrated and makes him kick other players who tackle him. if it diidnt happen yesterday then it was bound to happen in euros cos england are still crap.man utd are not. danny welbeck will make england look at bit better though when euros comes

He will still do well for Utd but he doesn't give a shit about England.

You're right there. But, I've said on here soooo many times that he plays on his emotion. If his life is good - he plays well, if it's not he doesn't. The press are already slagging him off for the red card and missing possibly the first 2 games at the Euro's. And there's talk that Capello might not even risk taking him (well there was talk of it on 5live this morning). That's going to play on his mind I think and could effect his game. Time for another striker to surge ahead this window anyway, but picking the right one is the problem.

He's scored well so far and if he continued at that rate - he'll end up with over 300 points and I just can't see anyone doing that.

I am gambling that he goes quiet this window. A big gamble, but this is what this game is all about.

I didn't nring Dzeko into any of my teams at TW1, call that a gamble if you like, but it's one that paid off for me. I thought his goals were a bit of a purple patch, and I was right.

Hope I'm still up near the top come December :?

im like you juckster, im unsure on rooney. Hes a player that thrives on confidence, when things get tough, it affects his game. I remember when he cheated on coleen, from then on his performances suffered and he went on a goal drought. Im considering ditching him, but knowing my luck, he will go on a scoring spree.

I'm planning on taking the risk of dropping him from my best team, and i dont need to spend the released funds anywhere else so can always bring him back in at TW3

You're making the mistake of thinking a) he can read b) will really care.
If anything this will just make him better; Slag me off for England? I'll show yer!!!!

You should go and take the BBC to court and demand your license fee back… This is way beyond any of the drivel that even Talksport dare churn out.

I didn't say I agreed with what they were saying Zim, just thought I'd enlighten you on what was said.

I reckon come 2012 he'll be fine and would DEFINATELY take him.

I just fear his confidence for the more important window for us.

I used to want him to play every game for England, but now I own him in SDT, I wish he'd cry off sick like some of the others. Playing for England just puts him under pressure and the press take him to the cleaners when he doesn't perform, and that affects his confidence and subsequently his value in SDT - you can't deny that.

Yes very worried, I will be taking him out of my team. When things are going right for him he is brilliant, when things are not then he goes missing. I can even see him been rested by Fergie for a few games

He will go to the finals. He will be useless and behave like a pathetic little child but will be deemed indispensable by the media. He will be defended no matter what he does. He will play well for Man Utd because they pay his wages. He does not give an eff if England win or lose. He does not give an eff how he performs for England. What he needs is to be taken down a dark alley and beaten to a pulp. When he recovers it should happen again and again.
I despise the pointless little piece of shit but he will score fantasy points.

It's not just Rooney I agree. Rooney is however the highest profile England player. Rooney will have his career ended before time by injury on or off the pitch.

i dislike rooney but no wonder he doesnt give a toss the way england supporters are...why should he care

He gets pressure because he is a permanent failure for England. If he cared then fans would support him. He deserves the derision and scorn heaped upon him as do all players who do not respect playing for their country. I do admit I hold a special hatred for Rooney though.

i think it stupid that ppl think english players dont care for there team to win in euros or world cup of course they care you dont get that far in football in you dont have Passion towards the game and training to be the best forget about money and wages .it just that english players are not technically good at the game and something need to change in the way we teach kids how to play football tatical wise

Stay on topic people,so much Rooney hatred here !
I've go feeling if the situation gets a lot of press Fergie will rest him and use Hernandez and Berbatov as last year.If I remember rightly it was around this time last year Hernandez became more of a permanent fixture with Berbs flitting in and out.It was only toward the latter end when Rooney and Hernandez played together.
What a dilemma though if you have Rooney.it's situations like these can change the whole face of the Sun game (how bad is Aguero for example ? Apparently he has an adductor strain which isn't that bad he tweeted )

Up next is Liverpool… do you leave out your best player (100% fit and bang in form) or not?

mmmm who'd be a manager

Berbatov started 26/36 games up to the start of Feb.
Of the 10 missed…. 4 were in the domestic cups + Burasspor (h) and Rangers (h) in the Champions League)… and he was sub in one as well.

all right fella's i not been on in a week , so not seen the thread but walking the dog with me house mate this morning i had this exact same discussion , I dont think the england game will have much effect on him but i am much more concerned about how the situation with his old man will effect him does anyone know how close they are ? he was truely shocking when he went through the coleen episode . massive gamble but it could be the one that see many teams fall line stones if he dries up. there about 15 games in this transfer window massive decison to be made.

Your mrs finding out you've banging a prozzy (having been caught for it in the past) is a different scenario to your old fella being a bit dodgy.

It's not as if he comes from a family of church goers.

I agree with Grumpy Old Man , I had Rooney last year in my dreamteam and he done nothing until the last transfer window , then he started banging them in , he always has a drought period and if I was betting it would be now it's going to spark it . I transferred him out for RVP who I can see scoring more goals than Roonpig in the next few months so no great loss and if everyone is scared of dropping him all the better for me as I need the points . If I didn't then I would probably leave him in but he cost me loads of points last year so balls to him !

For all the people taking him out It could become hard to bring him back in again if your team develops a couple of injuries before TW3 when you could well need to get him back in again. As even if you think he may struggle for now ( don't see why he should myself) surely you think he will regain form and become a must have again.
