The official FIFA fantasy game will be run by the same company as FPL, just in case anyone is interested. Sky have launched a game which I believe is run by OFL. I have started a thread in the Sky forum for that one.

So does everyone agree that the main game for this is on FIFA.com ? I came to a conclusion that FPL is the main for Premier League, because it's on the Premier League site, and FIFA.com one, as it's on the FIFA site :?: :?

4th June 2010 is when the (main) one will start on FIFA.com

Metro will definitely have one as they've done a press release already - but looks like gfm have lost their contract, or at least another company is coming in;

http://www.recentpoker.com/news/football-7028.html

Well i was right to word that carefully - a new company is indeed providing the metro scoring system, but gfm are still running the game - and the prize fund has been drastically reduced. The supposed "£30000" prizes only apply to all the tournament games - rotisserie type leagues which i've moaned about elsewhere. And which I confidently predict will not be successful. Up to £20 entry to win just over £1000. Not good.

www.worldcupfantasyfooty.co.uk has just launched. Free to play, you just predict the score and scorers of each game. You get points for the correct result, goal difference, score and scorers. You also get points at end of group stage for how accurate your predicted table looks compared to the actual one. You can select a group governor to earn you double points when they score too

A bit odd this isn't it?

All the same as OFl apart from 20 transfers rather than 25.

One prize of £4k, nothing else :?

Is it free :?: Certainly looks it.

have a look at the game launched on espn soccer net, seems the best so far, and resembles the epl game on the premier league site closely in terms of point scoring ....

thanks, yes, this ESPN one looks quite good....joined up and no problems with site.....just wish I could find a site that lists Countires selections and whether they are likely to play. Don't mean the Lampards of this world who are sure starters anyway, but some of the outsiders like N.Korea, because you definitely need a few 3.5m players to buy the likes of Lampard.
Bound to be such a site, just can't find one yet, if anyone knows of one I'd like to know, thanks.

You have to do your homework friend.

North Korea you say? Strikers Hong Yong-Jo, Jong Tae-Se, midfielders Mun In-Guk, Ahn Young-Hak defender Pak Chol-Jin

Good luck.

homework it is then you mean s**
actually there's no guarantee with those Countries who's likely to start, prob. best bet is to just select 3 or 4 at 3.5m and have them on the bench, first round anyway.
Now I have to have house tented before termites eat all my rafters....see, it's not all sun and beach in the tropics....

Sorry to rain on you're parade guys, but if you read the T&C's of the comp on ESPN, it is only going to award prizes to US/Canada/UK based players. In other words, you can play from outside US/UK, but you won't be allowed to claim the prizes if you win - pretty pointless really if you live, for instance, in Spain, etc. I've pasted the T&C section regards this below:

These are the official rules (the "Official Rules") for 2010 Soccernet World Fantasy / Desafío La Copa (the "Promotion"). The Promotion is sponsored and administered by ESPN Internet Ventures (the "Sponsor”). To the extent any advertisers are associated with the Promotion, each such advertiser shall be deemed a "Promoter" for purposes of these Official Rules.

1. ELIGIBILITY: The Promotion is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and Washington, D.C., Mexico, United Kingdom, and Canada (excluding Quebec), who are eighteen (18) years or older, or age of majority (whichever is older) in their jurisdiction, as of the date of entry, and are registered members of ESPN.com (Registration is free and is further described below). Employees of (i) ESPN, Inc. or its parent or affiliated companies, or (ii) any entity directly connected with the development, implementation or marketing of this Promotion, and the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) or household members of each such employee are not eligible. This Promotion is void in all U.S. Territories (e.g., Guam and Puerto Rico), foreign territories not specifically included herein and where prohibited by law. Participation in the Promotion constitutes Entrant's full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to Sponsor's decisions. The decisions of the Sponsor regarding all matters relating to the Promotion are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. From all eligible entries received, the winners will be determined based on their ability to use their skill and knowledge of World Cup soccer to accumulate the most points in this Promotion during the FIFA World Cup 2010 tournament (the "Tournament").
