I noticed that Harry Redknapp made a rare change to his line up against Bolton in GW14 (and I'm not talking VDV!)

William Gallas at 4.8m played 90 minutes at the expense of Younes Kaboul.

We all know that Gallas is not some unknown squad player. He is a central defender with plenty of experience.

With Spurs upcoming fixtures he is now the cheapest route to the spurs defense and is certainly on my watch list.

Does anyone think that he is likely to be chosen ahead of Kaboul (or even injury plagued Ledley King) in future?

kaboul played as usual. it was ledley king who gave way. its hard to say but i can't see kaboul being dropped to often for either king or gallas. he is young and playing very well.. rotation between king and gallas will be a regualar occurance though id guess but if spurs stay in europe id say ledley will play any league game he is fit for. no go really for either of gallas or king, id fork out the bit extra for any of kaboul, ekotto or walker.

On his return,GAllas's first half hour against PAOK was about as bad as it's possible to be.
He's been very lucky to have played the bulk of these first 2 games back against 10 men, effectively being a spare man.
I suspect he's gone, but he might play himself into a bit of form.

Whoops. How embarrassing. Thanks for pointing this out.

I think this seems the more logical conclusion now.

Is he not club captain? I plan on getting him next week. He'l get enough games for 4.8 to be value given King is such a sicknote.

King is club captain, Dawson is vice. Gallas is nowhere near the armband.

Gallas would be behind Parker and possibly even Kaboul and BAE for wearing the band if King is injured again before Dawson returns. Parker was captain with King and Dawson both missing at the weekend.

Had to bump this, seems to play every game recently. Is this likely to continue?

id still say stick to the full backs. its very unpredicatable. gallas has played because 2 weeks king was out. then 2 weeks kaboul was out with a thigh injury. then king out again. kaboul will get the nod usually with his age and fitness and aerial ability.. gallas and king will rotate. but you could also see a 3 way rotation as gallas, king and kaboul have all played well.. and then dawson is back in a couple of weeks... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!

It would be good if we had news that King is out for 3 weeks. That would seal the deal for me. Will wait til after the Swansea game though.

Seems silly not to just plumb for the certain starter BAE at 0.4m (now 0.5m) more. Unless money is really tight that is.
