Will this give me the w-edge at the upcoming FISO Golf Day (6 Aug @ The Warwickshire sign up here )?

Mizuno wedge for £29.99 seems a good deal, but the 47% is throwing me :?

Isn't that round about a 'normal' PW ?

Groomy will know :wink:

hmmm, firstly its a top quality club, no such thing as a bad Mizuno wedge. It's a 'better player' club though ie not as forgiving as say an mx-100.

The picture shows a 56' wedge (Sand Wedge) but the description 47' is definitely PW

In general

60' = Lob
56' = Sand
52' = Gap
48' = Pitch

Firstly this wedge is not very lofted, about the same as a "normal" set wedge (or less as these are often about 49 degrees). A sand iron for example has about 56 degrees of loft.

Secondly it does not have the latest "zip" grooves which are now illegal on the pro tour

So if you want to buy a wedge you need to decide what you want it for. This wedge would be mainly for full shots of around 100 yards for most players. It is however a blade and therefore not the easiest to hit on full shots.

So if you want a wedge for shots around the green this is probably not the one for you. You'll want more loft.

I have a set of these wedges though: 51 degrees, 56 degrees and 60 degrees and they are very nice clubs!

If I remember correctly toffee, you already have a blade type wedge, so it isn't anything unusual in terms of getting used to it.

Buy yourself Titleist spin milled vokey wedge and start with one rather than buying 2 or 3 poorer ones
