whilst taking a cheeky look at fellow rival teams in my works mini-league its quite apparent that most have a Rooney, RVP, Augero front three.

Me on the other hand - RVP, Augero and Sturridge(ive had since TW1)

Doing team comparisons indicate Ive got a slight advantage at the back, whilst having more Mcity,Lool players to make use of the additional CC games.

Should i be worried about the rooney factor? Will Rooney become the RVP of the last transfer window? Hindsight a wonderful gift i do not possess.

JB - I think your biggest concern is tomorrow v Blackburn at OT. Blackburn did show a bit of spirit at Anfield, but should they concede early, you could see them getting an absolute spanking from United. Could mean a Rooney hatrick to ride out, or he may just prompt things from off the front for 70 mins before being withdrawn goalless to save for games coming up.

United then do have games AT City, Arsenal, Chelsea...so a chance these would be tighter affairs, although there are no guarantess with the latter two's defences.

In your favour you have 4.5m to strengthen elsewhere, so Rooney has to outscore Sturridge by a fair few, which is in no way nailed on. [assuming your more expensive picks at the back do the business for you].

I think if you get through tomorrow relatively unscathed, you could be ok.. :D

Thanks Edmondson. I hadnt considered the United upcoming fixtures. (me a novice).

With Europa games do you think Rooney will start or get rested. Whats your hunch on this one?

We all know sturridge & rvp will play champions league.

I would add that whilst Liverpool could only manage a draw, Blackburn looked woefully poor.

Much like United dismantled Wigan (who had held Liverpool the game before)... I fully expect United to do the same to Blackburn.

To be honest Mr Zimmer im expecting Rooney to notch 2 then get subbed after 70 mins.

To back this up im putting a £10 bet on Carrol and Rooney to score against Newcastle and Blackburn respectively.

Not sure on the odds though.

I think SAF will take a mixed approach to Europa. If you look at United fixtures after Europa games they are not too shabby at all. Therefore Fergie will play Rooney in some of the fixtures. Either the 1st leg to help set the tie up or the 2nd leg to rescue it. Will largely depend on where away fixtures are, and then how far United progress...with Rooney likely to feature more if United make the q-finals, semi's.

Rooney looks set for a spell in midfield to me. That, combined with some tricky away games, led me to conclude that he was not worth £8m in this window. Hopefully I'm not jinxing a hat-trick tomorrow :D

Whats that based on though CBN? He's never been a Drogba or Van Persie style striker.

The only time he has, is for England (when he looks his least affective).

Doesnt matter to me where he goes on the pitch - if he is involved, he catches the eye.

would be amazed if fergie doesnt have his eye firmly fixed on that manchester derby..nature of the beast and all that..restoring pride
he will pick whoever he thinks will get him 3 points in the league..berbatov last week is the star..hernandez this week ?

Yes he's always been a deeper striker. But there was a spell earlier this season that he played central midfield. That's a first. And there is a risk that recommences with their injury situation (strikers back fit and midfield still patchy).

How long is Rooney out for. United look awful. 1-0 down to Blackburn at home.

Was not a penalty in my view, Berbatov barely touched him and he went down very easily, although I hate it when people tugg peoples shirts in the penalty area at all, Berbatov should have some common sense and not touch him, Blackburn are never going to score from there. Idiot.

Rooney had missed a couple of days of training. Nothing more or less than that apparently.

Surely no-one in their right mind with a well performing team ...then again I don't have 60 odd teams to play with.

I have read comments on here that people have taken 'risks' to get ahead of those around them, I don't expect anyone would have guessed Berba would be coming back into the squad.

De Gea can go back to Spain absolutely useless, will never be a Van Der Sar, not even close. He is like a little kid in goal I would have done better than him in goal today, Shocking absolutely shocking!

Get Lindegaard in goal and keep him there.

Think I might have climbed a couple of places and I dont even have any united or blackburn players :D my main 2 concerns were not having Jones and Rooney, was also worried Nani might hit form but assuming no 7+ ratings, Rooney get 0, Nani get -1 and Jones get -2

Kinell do you believe everything you hear.

Rooney will start next game...

The rumour about Rooney was that he went out on boxing day with amongst others Johnny Evans for a meal...

You cut and paste states-

If you didn't believe it why bother posting ridiculous sensationalism.

Hold on let me think.... Oh yeah you took Rooney out of your dream team.

I did mention the reason a few posts above as reported on Sky... Which was contrary to the Fergy explanation of a small injury.

I know but I can see no mention of your reason on any internet sites, so was wondering where you had heard this rumour from?

Man United are screwed, they have some tough fixtures coming up, Man City could start walking away with it again starting from today.

United need to get Lindegaard in goal, Young fit, Nani back to his best, and have Rooney in the team to have any chance.
