Major dilemma here guys.
Was gonna sub laursen in for ferdinand this week and then bentely in for cahill next to take advantage of the double GW coming up, BUT now that Cech is injured and Gordon is my sub keeper, should I forget about my great plan and put reina or VDS in?????
whats the news with cech???

many thanks

If so, consider Carson instead of Laursen, perhaps?

thanks for that guys, but think i may go for friedal instead as blackburn have a decent defence (albeit they have a game against united on saturday but after that their fixture list is nice).

now for the big question: freidal away to united or gordon at home to newscastle?????????

you'll have to back 17 years to the last time Sunderland did not concede against Newcastle in the Tyne-Wear derby.

At 5.1 Almunia is another option - and with RE (a), WI (h), then a double v AV & NU both (a) in GW 15, followed by MI (a) he could be excellent vfm over the next few weeks.

again, good stuff guys but i already have gallas, clichy & fabregas so no more gooners for me. its either freidal or carson to take advantage of the double week and the fact that i need a new #1 that doesn't ship too many goals. soon
as the double gameweeks are out of the way hart is going in as my sub keeper! can't believe he's only 4m!
also with the money saved from swapping cech out, i can add gerard to fabregas, elano & lampard in midfield and still have enough money to swap tevez for santa cruz in the next few weeks. what do ye reckon to that?
any other thoughts on freidal vs carson?

Blackburn have some good fixtures even after the double gameweeks. I'd have gotten Friedel if I could have afforded him - he's due some penalty saves sometime soon.

Be wary with Hart .... Isaksson could return at any time.

Re: Friedel v Carson.

BR Games:
11 Nov Gameweek 13 Man. United (A)
25 Nov Gameweek 14 Fulham (A)
28 Nov Gameweek 14 Aston Villa (H)
1 Dec Gameweek 15 Newcastle (H)
9 Dec Gameweek 16 West Ham (H)
15 Dec Gameweek 17 Wigan (A)
23 Dec Gameweek 18 Chelsea (H)
27 Dec Gameweek 19 Man. City (A)

AV Games:
11 Nov Gameweek 13 Birmingham (A)
24 Nov Gameweek 14 Middlesbrough (A)
28 Nov Gameweek 14 Blackburn (A)
1 Dec Gameweek 15 Arsenal (H)
8 Dec Gameweek 16 Portsmouth (H)
15 Dec Gameweek 17 Sunderland (A)
22 Dec Gameweek 18 Man. City (H)
26 Dec Gameweek 19 Chelsea (A)

Other than this week v MU (a), and GW19 v CH, I prefer BR's run - esp. GW 14 - 17, with 3 home games and the 2 away to FU & WI!
Freidel could even be worth (c)ing in the 2xgw 14.

Meanwhile, AV have 3 away games, incl. a derby, then AR at (h), tough PO (h), then SU away, MC (h) & CH (a).
I think of the two, Friedel is the better choice - but next week, not this! :(

which leaves me with my current dilemma - who do i play this week, freidal or
gordon - neither likely to keep a clean sheet although neither should ship too many. though united are scoring for fun at the moment

I think you've answered your own question! :P

Alternatively, you bring someone in for this week only, and then Friedel next week, doing a double if nec. in expectation of regaining the lost 4 points. Who's playing Derby County?

Or you keep Cech and hope he's fit for GW14 - likely, by all accounts - and look at BR defenders (as you have greater flexibility with outfield players) to buy a BR man and bench him immediately.
Playing Gordon in a derby may not be disastrous as SU will be up for it and are at home.

if i do nothing with the gk situation then its automatically gonna be gordon in for the weekend and fingers crossed. not a great option i don't think.
what makes you think cech will be back for w14? granted there is a break to w15 so that could be on

Full team for the record:

cech, gordon

ferdinand, gallas, clichy, baines, garrido

fabregas, lampard, elano, cahill, leadbitter

benjani, santa cruz, jones

+3m
its a bit of a keira, but long term is to bring in gerrard for cahill, tevez for cruz & samba for ferdinand. BUT trying to avail of the 2 conectutive double GWs and get around this cech injury is a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!

The fact that CH are trying to dissuade the Czech Republic from selecting him for the Internationals suggest they feel he may be fit by then, and they'd like him not to be risked:

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 28,00.html

Keeping him would be a gamble, but only for this one week when your prefered target is facing MU (a) anyway.

Seeing your squad, why not play Gordon and move Baines out for Samba now?

thats a very good idea, in fact, i think thats what i will do. so samba in this week, and if cech recovers all well and good. if not freidal is in for him. if cech is back ok, then i can put bentely in for GW14 instead of cahill, so 3 BR players for the double GW.

Only problem with selling baines for samba is that it will cost a mil, and that means i have to swap back again for gerrard thus postponing it a week, but i suppose that can't be helped. any other ideas???? thanks again

It's difficult to say without seeing your team, as I don't know the value of your players after any profit is halved. Nelson & Ooijer are the crds (cheapest regular defender) in BR, if that helps at all?

To post a link to your team, follow these instructions:

1) Log onto your team.
2) Click on 'Latest Points - Gameweek 12' (Very Important!)
3) Copy the address then return here and click 'Post Reply'.
4) Write 'My team is here.', or similar, highlight it, and click URL from the boxes above.

It should now look like this: My team is here'.

5) Now add a '=' into the first , so that you now see ''.
6) Then paste in the copied FPL.com address after the '=' but before the ']'.

When you click 'Preview' it should now look like this: My team is here.
Good luck!

Most of us FISO regulars then post this url in or Profile 'WWW' box - click on mine (below) and it'll take you to my team.
Ignore my score.

By the way .... when you say 'sub Laursen in for Ferdinand', above, you really mean 'transfer', not 'sub'.
I've been asked to point this out to you by a mean old grump.

And 'welcome to the forum!", too. :D

No, that's the generic home page - it takes each of us to our own team!

You must click on the 'Gameweek 12' button and record that url.

Interesting quote from your link:
Quote:
FOOTBALL....co.uk

Home of another Fantasy Football forum. Whilst not anywhere near as busy as FISO’s forum, it is a little less intimidating for new Fantasy Football managers.

With your 671 points, you'll be 4th in the Fiso league if you joined. Good job, and all your scores except one are less than 70 and none above 80 too. That's a lesson.

dublin_gooner: That's a damned good squad and you're doing far better than me so biggered if I'm going to help you. :P

Nah ....

Why the urge to get Cahill out? You've only just brought him in - and at the cost of -4. :?

If you feel you must, then consider losing Ferdinand -> Samba instead. BR have a good record (a) to MU, though, tbh, I can't see a c.s. (clean sheet) for either at O.T. this week and, if Baines is still out (& facing CH if in) you are short of cover at the back.

You could then afford Cahill -> Gerrard as and when, then move Baines -> G Neville or Samba -> G Neville (when fit) later as your budget permits.

I don't like it as much, myself, but I suppose EV aren't racking up goals right now - nor are they keeping clean sheets, though and Baines is injured ....

Personally, I'd go Baines -> Samba and set myself up for the double

URkiddingMe - Some areas of FISO are not quite so welcoming to newbies as the FPL.com Forum and can seem intimidating even to the oldies. But we, here, pride ourselves on our convivial and helpful nature.
