How does this look? I've been top heavy with strikers this year and my midfield and bench has suffered when called upon so looking for all round consistency for the second half of the season.

Lindergaard, Vorm

Kompany, Richards, Evans, Caulker, Simpson

VDV, Bale, Valencia, Walters, Sessenagon

Van Persie, Aguero, Yakubu.

Plan on playing Lindergaard as I feel he will play a lot now its coming to a crucial time, the midfield feels very strong without being spectacular and the strikers are very strong imo.

Thoughts and flaws?

Good looking team.

How are you going to choose who to bench each week with such a strong MF/FW line up? I think I would look to lose Walters for a base price player. This would give enough to bring Ba in for Yak after ACN duties.

VDV always makes me nervous with his hamstring history and I think that having him AND Bale may be a bit too much. Fixtures aren't that great after GW23 either. I would swap for Dempsey.

I also think you are brave to go forward without Silva but you can't have them all.

Thanks for replying, I do want Silva but I don't want to lose a City defender as the clean sheets are coming and don't want to lose Aguero, I can get him in by swapping Kompany for Jones and VDV for Silva but I'm not sure that United will keep more clean sheets then City in the next few weeks which is why I went for Lindergaard and Evans as they are cheap, if they don't play it won't annoy me.

I had Dempsey and Moses but swapped them for Sessenagon and Walters, which do you think is the better pair?

I do plan to lose VDV after the Wolves game.

Re who to bench, for next week I plan to play Simpson and bench Sessenagon, Walters and Caulker, the two midfielders are not premium priced so wouldn't think twice about benching them as I know if called upon they would be better than Bradley Johnson and Dyer who haven't been playing recently but sods law they both scored well this week, in the last 5 weeks they have let me down as they have been called on through auto subs.

I've tweaked it slightly, swapped Lindergaard and VDV for Bunn and Nani, Bunn can play next week at home to Fulham then I can stick with Vorm, this allows me to be able to feel confident in all 14 outfield players.

I like the idea of having two RVP's

Plus 3 Everton players

They play Villa away as well as facing MC and Chelsea in their next 5 games (after this DGW)

Robinson only yellow flagged. You'll need to dump Bunn sooner rather than later. Having just Vorm isn't that ideal as they have one or two tough fixtures coming up. You'll need a playing 2nd keeper.

Also, your back line covers just 4 teams. Two City defenders are ok, although Richards finds himself benched from time to time, thus removing any double cs potential. Your two MU picks are by no means guaranteed startes, with Rio back soon, plus the return to fitness of Jones, Smalling and Da Silva. De Gea will still likely get game time, unless SAF decides to cut his losses.

As for your MF, I don't personally like having two from the same team, although having both VdV and Bale can work out well. Note that Spurs travel to Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea over the next few weeks (but have favourable home games against Wigan and Wolves).

Front line looks fine.

I can get away playing the BOLD players this week possibly, or do you think i should wildcard before hand?

I would think twice about dropping Walters this week as Liverpool's home form has not been great.

I'm not really worried about rotation, I don't feel like I have any enablers and feel quite comfortable if any of the defence gets a rest as I got 5 mf and 3 strikers that I would happily play every week.

Bunn is a concern as you say (took Lindergaard out) but Vorm has proved his worth all season so would have no fears about playing him against a big team.

VDV is only in for this week, got the money aside to upgrade him to Nani or Gerrard if need be, great player but too nerve racking having him.

Yes mate, pulled the trigger as soon as it opened as I built my team for this double and had poor subs, didn't see the point in delaying it when I needed to freshen up.

You?

Still undecided on a few positions like bringing Aguero back in or having Sturridge and making the midfield super strong.

In short my dilemma is Sturridge, Nani and Silva/Gerrard or Aguero, VDV and Walters, what do you think?

Personally im toying with playing mine this week now also, see my team above what do you think?

Im bringing silva back in, prob dropping Walters for Sess. I think VDV is a luxury and feel happy having bale instead.

Im thinking of doing adebayor to Aguero also, think he will shine in second half of season where as adebayors fixtures tighten up.

You're team was like mine, I could have got away with it, you probably could aswel, I didn't want to wait as what's the point of holding on to it if you know yourself you can better it?

The card is only here for 3 gws, if it was 10 then I would understand holding it back.

How does this look then?

Vorm/Lindegaard (cant decide what the best choice of keepers is?)

Richards Simpson Caulker Evans Kelly
Bale Nani Silva Walters Moses
RVP Aguero Sturridge

Other possibilities that interest me

Cahill
Sessegnon

would personally downgrade nani to valencia/dempsey
which would allow upgrade of moses to sessegnon and richards to kompany
also McAuley from WBA at 4.1 may be an option instead of Caulker, nobody seems to have spotted their decent fixtures whereas swansea have a terrible run
from that team i also have simpson, kelly, bale, silva, walters and the same forward line :)

My team for what it's worth.

Lindegaard
Mignolet

Kelly
Kompany
Simpson
McAuley
Shotton

Dempsey
Etherington
Sessegnon
Silva
Bale

Van Persie
Aguero
Sturridge

11 different teams, 3 from only city, 2 from fulham, 2 from stoke
downside = no man u or liverpool cover (apart from 1/2 a GK)
will rotate mostly sessegnon/etherington

Thanks for the advice!

1. Do you agree with the goalkeeper rotation or can you suggest a better alternative.

2. Shall i hang onto adebayor this week for WOL while aguero has wig

I have aguero as captain next gw :) i'd rather not have a transfer set in stone for next gw, you might need it to replace an injury/non starter or january transfer etc etc.
the gk rotation is a gamble, i took vorm out and cashed in tbh i cant see cardiff keeping many cleansheets in the next few weeks which could leave you short if lindegaard doesn't play.

You are correct but I've decided this was a 2011 thing :) hehe, plus I need some kind of differential and my main rivals don't have him at all (pre wildcard anyway), I fancy a goal fest at Wigan from city

I wouldn't be WCing with that team.

You could play a decent 5-2-3 formation... I've never played it before in my life, but all 5 have decent games.

Simpson Enrique Evans BAE Baines
Nani Bale
Sturridge Adebayor RVP

That's without your free transfer though, I assume?

So you could ship Drenthe/Osman out and bring in someone who has a good GW.

Unless you have your main WC available, I'd be waiting until the FA Cup semi-finals have been played (so you know which game will be postponed) and the transfer window shuts (or is close to shutting).

Once GW23 deadline has passed, that's when I think you'd be best using it.

To be fair Nani was the top point scoring midfielder last year but couldn't get a game towards the end of the season once Valencia returned.

Lindergaard, Vorm

Kompany, Richards, Evans, Simpson, Caulker

Nani/Gerrard, Bale, Dempsey, Cabaye/Ben Arfa, Sessengon

Van Persie, Aguero, Yakubu

That's the current line up with changes.
