The obvious choice is Carlos Tevez but perhaps its time to think outside the box!

Easier to score inside the box

Jones. Seriously though thats what I'm doing, but only because I'm moving from 3 to 2 strikers. Either Torres or Drogba.

... or you could have asked the same question without creating a pointless poll

PS. if i had rooney, i'd probably swap him for someone with a double gameweek for now

ever so slightly OT... but now that he has a red I will his price not change for the next 7 days starting from today or from tomorrow?

Think he can fall as much as possible until he's regained fitness. Then when the red i is removed he's protected for 7 days. (?)
That's my understanding at least.

My work league Cup comp starts this week and I've already made my transfer.

With Wenger suggesting Van Persie will be back after the internationals I'm tempted to take a four-point hit to bring in Torres for one week (in for Rooney, and out for RVP).

His record at Anfield is excellent, but with the risk he may not start is it too much of a gamble?

Subs are currently Garrido and Dempsey but Hreidersson is also a doubt that may need covered.

Any thoughts? Didn't want to start another 'what'll I do about Rooney' thread!

a*$e, this changes everything.

i expect Ronaldo will play in a more forward role now. still, i can't bring Ronaldo into my squad without tearing it to shreds.

as i see it, Rooney's effectively more than 1.0 cheaper than Ronaldo because:

Rooney (11.8) + basement value midfielder (3.8) = 15.6

Ronaldo (12.2) + basement value forward (4.7) = 16.9

difference is 1.3.

- now that's the difference between having

Gabbidon (4.2) and Samba (5.5) in your squad,

or

Samba (5.5) and Carvalho (6.8) in your squad.

Gerrard in maybe after the double gameweeks? Depending on how he performs this weekend. He's picking up bonii too which is sign of good form.

McCarthy or RVP could come in first though.

His price can still change - only it will take substantially more transfers to make that happen.

The 7 day price freeze comes into effect when the red (i) is REMOVED not added.

Just had a look at united stats...they are alot better when Rooney plays. Without him they've played 6, won 3, drew 2, lost 1, scored 4. When he plays 90 minutes they've played 6, won 5, drew 1, lost 0, scored 17. This indicates going for Tevez as a direct replacement for Rooney isn't so wise to me, though as we all know stats don't tell it all.
