Did anyone else watch this last night?

I thought it was very good - except the portrayal of the Ripperologist was a little OTT (I suppose I would though  )

Good acting & direction. A little license used with the historical facts though, but I suppose that's inevitable.

Sky+'d it and watched tonight.

I enjoyed it too - just wish it hadn't portrayed the bill like it did. I'm sure they're not all so stereotypically uncouth and unwashed!!

What sort of name is Penry btw?! :?

Thought it was terrific, something a bit different, agree about Ripper expert but was probably in keeping with the way program was slanted, all characters being larger than life to some extent, but that did not spoil the thing.

Watched it last night. Agree it was good and that the 2 extremes of the cop stereotypes were too exaggerated (or seemed it). Not sure I want to wait so long til the next parts  I usually save my Sky+ recordings and watch them all closer together.

Also a bit weird for a cop programme as there are no suspects. I'll put my money on the ripperologist with a saver on Phil Davis's character (not sure how he'd have done the last one).

I managed to catch up online over the weekend. It's definitely got me looking forward to the next episode tonight.
