Where should our loyalties lie

1) Europe
2) USA
3) Ourselves as a isolated independent county.

My view

Beg the USA to become the newest state of the USA.
We have far more in common with the US than Europe

1) We speaketh the same language (English)
2) Our culture is the same as the US Culture
3) The UK and US are forever linked most of the US can trace histories back to the UK
4) The US helped us vs Germany in the 2nd WW
5) Which side would you prefer in a fight Europe or the USA
6) We could finally get rid of the overpaid hanger's on ie The Royal family (Not the funny TV series, the house of WIndsor)
7) The UK is no longer important in the world, better to be part of the biggest empire on earth US, than face being bullied by Europe.

1. I dispute!
2. I really dispute.
3. Is that true - anybody know the stats?
4. Yeah right, after they became at risk. They weren't just doing it to help us and, don't forget we were at war to help our European brothers.
5. China?
6. Huge loss of nett profit.
7. So give up our sovereignty to A rather than risk losing some of our sovereignty to B. Genius.
8. That's the one! Thanks tacabala.

Some ludicrous suggestions there Achiles. First of re the two World Wars.

The Americans might not have joined us in WWI if it wasn't for a) the Zimmerman Telegraph or b) sinking of the Lusitania

The Japs did us a backhanded favour in WWII by forcing the Yanks hand. We had to pay though, only finally paying back the lend lease in 2003 ! A cool 58 years after the end of the War.

Since then, the Yanks didn't back us with with Suez and (luckiliy) we did not help them with Vietnam. Instead we have been dragged into unecessary conflicts because, it seems, the Americans helped us in two World Wars. Air Strip One comes in handy for bombing rogue states with a surplus of oil, don't cha know.

We end up with American culture - fast food outlets, obese chubsters and gangsta rap wannabies. Great  I would much rather have European culture, thank you very much, rather than American culture but I digress - our loyalties should lie with ourselves - not America, not Europe. Let's get the good ship UK straight before we start worrying about everyone else.

What about you Achiles - keen to stay in the UK or want a separate Wales ? A lot of your posts take a pop at the English.

Where do you think the UK got out nuclear Arsenal from Bluenosey????

So our European culture.
How many stars from France and Germany are BIG in the UK.
What was the latest film from France and Germany to top the charts in the UK?
Writing? Who are the biggest writers in the UK? European or American? A certain Mr King sells a hell of a lot of books in the UK compared to who from Germany or France?

I want the UK to remain Wales, Scotland and Ireland (United) but I WOULD love to kick England out of the UK.

All the bad press we get in the UK comes from England.

England football fans abroad!
England youth rioting in the streets.
No identity in England.
A lack of respect etc in England.

Between the Roman, Gaul & Norman invasions & the amount of retreating west done by the peasants you could argue the only true English left are the Welsh...

These are all arguments that could be applied to the entire EU.

The English should be resettled to Denmark, Germany, France or Italy depending on genetic background, especially that odious English slimeball Nick Griffen who claims he speaks for all of Britain (yet only speaks for England).

Otherwise that fool would realise that bing English he is a immigrant to the British land (once settled by the Celtic races)

The Angles, Vikings did not kick out the Welsh.

The Angles & Vikings became the overmasters of parts of England (The Saxons) (Note the Vikings and Angles never conquered any of Wales.

The Saxons did not conquer any of Wales.

Until the Norman invasion of 1066 when the entire of England was ruled by the French (Normans).
The Normans built the castles in Wales (Not the English as the English like to make out)

The Saxons caused the celts to retreat to Wales and Cornwall but that was only due to overwhelming numbers arriving from Germany.

Short history lesson for you murfy

Learn to read. I said they kicked you out of England. You ran and hid in the less desirable, mountainous countries that they didn't want.

The Vikings and Angles did not kick us out of England. By the point they invaded we were not in England for them to kick us out.

Basic history lesson Murf.

Who did the kicking out is not the point. The point is you are from England.

The other point is that I'm bored of winding you up on this!
