If you look at the pre-season friendlies for Birmingham, it seems that McSheffrey played a big part in most of them - played up front for one game!

That's most odd, Jimmy. I could have sworn I missed his name when I had a look at most of the line ups :?

Chris, how come all your posts have about 7 or 8 blank lines at the end? Bizarre. Do you press enter a few times at the end of your last sentence?!

It's because of his avatatar.

My plan is to pick players that are undervalued, under picked and primed for both a fast start and big price rise. Also, I feel I must pick the few players I will want for the entire season. Then come September 1st I'll be going through the whole process again, hoping to make a nice profit as well as taking advantage of "restarting" with the knowledge of who the surprises (both positive and negative) are.

The only problem is pinpointing those players set to rise in price. At the moment I feel it takes the right combination, as already mentioned, of being undervalued and under picked.

I choose 15 players who are first choice with their clubs in their chosen positions. You don't want a 9m player who comes on and scores a point. That's 1 point away from pointless.

i've gone for the "****/* = 4/5 biggies but nothing much else" choice..
this has meant also selecting Huth in defence, Parker in mid and Lita upfront..

still not sure about these cheapies.. any thoughts?

Lita is a good cheapie I reckon, not sure about the others.

Hey guys, 1st post woohoo!!

After my continuous tinkering and having a squad that looks completely different everytime i look at it, I think ive finally gone for a balanced outfit. I guess ive looked at the first 4 GWs and plotted my team to score best in those GWs, then Ill use my WC to settle on say a 4/5 team whom the stars should stay in all season, and pickup the cheap up and comers to settle in around them. By then Ill also know which of the cheapest benchwarmers will consistently play 60+mins, hence an almost guarunteed extra 2pts if any late changes occur. Its hard all the way over here downunder cos we miss a lot of the news.

Only 6 Days to go!!

PS. Starting team: chosen players in pre-season form, and amazingly Ive chosen Malouda over lamps or Fake, i guess 4 GWs should sort out their form and give me a good indication on which * to choose come my wildcard.

Howard
Finnan Ben Haim (No Terry-wildcard pickup) Jagielka Rio
Malouda Malbranque Barry Cesc
RVP Berba

Niemi
Baines
Teale
Ashton

I know that you possibly didn't intend it to be a RMT post, but I thought I'd point out a few things.

 Finnan doesn't play in GW2, and has Chelsea in GW3, so your short term option on him seems bizarre.

 If Baines completes his move to Everton, which supposedly is likely, you have effectively got a three man Everton block defence. This is popular in TFF circles, but less so in FPL.

 Check to see what the story on Malouda is. He did well in the CS game, but seemed to get a heavy knock and went off in the second half. Possible injury concern?

 Also keep an eye on RVP as he took a heavy knock in the last minutes of the Ajax game. Went off on a stretcher but was back to get his medal and walked out of the ground.

 You are missing 5 players in GW2: Finnan, Cesc, Barry, RVP & Ashton.

Apart from that I like the look of the team.

Hi, Zuluwarrior, and welcome!
Everything the esteemed shawpower says it true and should be heeded. However, I wanted to say, make sure you check out all the various forums we have here (via Forum Index at the top and bottom of every page) and you'll find that you need seldom, if ever go to another site for your ff needs - everything is here, ready, if you can find it.
Good luck with your early wildcard! Keep us informed of how you do! :)

Ta for the finnan heads up, might be wise to look elsewhere, esp since i didnt realise Barry not playing GW2 as well.

The baines move to everton is the reason why ive selected him. hopefully its confirmed soon and he starts playing before GW2, if not im still looking to play with a big nice J-Lo GW3 onwards when he comes in, depending on fixtures everton vs ??.

Thanks for the feedback mate :D
