We areputting on a charity event this friday and have parking in a field for up to 1000 cars. Iv been to the site today and its completly flooded...

Hopefully this will dry out but is there anything we can put on the ground temporarily to stop the cars getting stuck?

The big problem will be the entrance / exit. Get some boards on that to stop it getting cut up as that's where people will get stuck. Not a lot you can really do with the field itself, but at least try and keep the exit's clear (and have a tractor on stand by)

1000 cars. hmm I would start to worry if I were you. Invite some farmers along and tell them to bring their tractors. If Silverstone can't get it right.....

I'm in civils - sounds like you're after a geotextile something like this

http://www.grassform.co.uk/grassprotecta-mesh.htm

http://www.tenax.co.uk/showcategory.asp ... =17&menu=3

but this and the similar things I'm aware of are for permanent solutions and probably not the price you want to pay for a one off event. You'll not have the time to get a solution like this down either anything you lay down needsthe grass to grow through it as car wheels just move it off the surface even when pinned down.
