Had a moan at my local landlord last night for putting his beer up 20p a pint.

Pint of Carling now costs £3.20
Interested to know what anyone else pays and in what area. I'm in Nuneaton (Midlands)

£2.80 average cost, though my local does promotions each month - Bays 2012 only £2.00 at the moment. (North West Devon)

I usually only drink pints of Belgian or German beers, so I am happy to spend on average about £3.50- £5 for one.

Drink too regularly to be honest. Also, I'm a student  (play poker too though)

Should note that is from Glasgow.

It's a scandal and they wonder why pubs are going kerput ?

My two locals are £3.20 and £3.30 for a pint of Carling so I will go into the town centre and at least the Weaherspoons has Carslberg on offer for £1.75 :D

Depends which pub you go to. Even some of those in Brum now average around £3.50 :(

The binge drinking phenomenon died out for me about 10 years ago - when people used to go out. People only get in a state becuase they drink heavily before going out. I did once. I bet Herc may also do the same ? A few cheeky shots to get the night going ?

Now you can pick up tinnies for about 60p in the supermarket and pay five times as much in the pub - a controlled drinking atmosphere.

Someone needs to sort this difference out and fast. It should be cheaper in pubs and more expensive in the supermarkets.

Having said that, in Cannes to years ago I paid 10 Euros for a pint   I wanted to frame it a put it onm a plinth on my mantle piece.

Just come back from a couple of days at The Mill in Chester. Posh pub/hotel/spa with a real ale CAMRA sanctioned bar. Some excellent beers but also some serious pond water.

Prices for a pint of beer ranged from £2:30 - £3:20 and that was with 3 big tellys on the wall. :)

I think some of you are being done.

Wetherspoons success proves most pubs are a rip off. A nice pint of Abbot for £2.35. 8-)

There's a place somewhere nearby that is a Pub, but doesn't serve beer. Instead, you pay a couple of quid to get in and bring your own beer. Haven't been there yet, but sounds like a good idea.

Not really as weatherspoons have huge buying power.. ^^ is like saying all local shops are ripoffs because tescos is cheaper.

Same price in my pub.

All guest ales are £2.30. Includes good beer such as Hobgoblin, Red IPA, Deuchars, Caledonian, Backyard bitter (The Hoard, Silly Rucker), purity (Mad Goose, Blonde, UBU), Sneck Lifter, Bishops Finger, JHB, Adnams,Butcombe Gold etc. All great beers, all at a very good price.

Lager - Carling £2.90, cheaperst lager is Carlsberg at £2.60 and premium lager such as Staropramen, Heinekken, 1664, San Miguel and Amstel at around £2.80-£3.20 per pint.

£3.60 but it is for Stella. Fosters is about £3.20 I think.

Like quite a few pubs  ale is not worth the bother - £3.40 and it's not a great pint either

I can get Abbot in the Wetherspoon's instead but my ws charges £2.40 for it. I'm getting robbed lol

That may be true for publicans, but for me with my tenner I'd rather have 4 nice pints of Abbot than 3 very average pints in a non-Wetherspoon...sadly most of my locals are McMullens, so on the rare occasions I visit for a pub meal, clutching my birthday club free wine voucher, I buy 1 pint of overpriced lager or Guinness.

Actually as a shareholder in both Greene King and Marstons, I don't like seeing "my" product devalued in Wetherspoons...I manage to overcome my reservations and drink it though!

£2.30 for Harvest Pale at the 3 pubs I regularly go to, ranging up to about £2.50 / £2.80 for the likes of Deuchars IPA, Doom Bar, Blue Monkey or Batemans XB.

If I ever drink lager it'll be out with the lads and paid out of a whip so no idea how much.
