Hello all you Wolverhampton, Birmingham, West Brom and Villa fans. :)

Is anybody interested in joining a dedicated West Midlands super league next season as a way to celebrate all of us being in the Premiership?

There has been a Villa league for a couple of seasons now but after a flying start it seems to have lost a lot of it's original members due to them not having TFF teams this season.

It would be a closed no cash league so bragging rights only to be gained.

I understand that Villa supporters will have an unfair advantage due to the guaranteed 18 points to be taken from our WM rivals but I'm sure some of you will still want to give it a go.

If you would like to join when the time comes could you please post your interest on this thread.

Cheers. :D

You goin' down, Spiny

Good idea. I note there are only four teams in the Villa league. You can't realistically expect a team with such a small fan base to fill a league, so it's a good idea. :P

Just one suggestion - I think you ought to make it a "Midlands Superleague" -get Stoke, Derby & Forest fans in there too. There's quite a few supporters of those teams on here.

There were twelve to start off with but then they all went back to FPL and The Sun.

TFF is where it's at...it's the best game by far.

Indeed but they were easier to beat than the other experienced TFF'ers in the league. :P

I think Foxtrot signed up the season after he won the big one.

Ideas and names on a postcard please. (or you could just post on here)

As commented above Spiny, how about make it a Midlands league ?

Opens it up to Derby,Forest,Stoke,Leicester, Cov fans and so on. Definitely supporters of the first three named clubs on here.

Yep. I'm up for it as both a Villa and a Nuneaton Town fan (I appreciate my team choices may be confined to the former for this season...)

I'll save a team for this league, Coventry City and Nuneaton Borough (refuse to call them "town" at my age)!

Elkmaster... "at your age"?

Does that mean you're too young to remember them as Nuneaton Town back in 1937? :D

Indeed, too young in 1937, I was just a sperm then. Born in 58.

League set up - "FISO Midlands Super League"

PMs sent to Spinynorman, Portugal7, The Elkmaster and Foxtrot.

Good luck everyone. I already have a draft team and quite frankly, it looks unbeatable :D

PS Spiny - as a mod, can you move this thread into the Superleague forum ? Ta.

First update of our over subscribed league :-

Manager Team name Total Week Goals Overall Pos
1 John Brookes Windy Millers XI 51 51 4 27155 8-)
2 Chris Beasley Charlies Aitken's 49 49 1 36049
3 Ian Frost BCFC Kings of Europe 48 48 4 41112
4 Neil Fox Feeling Randy 47 47 3 46293
5 Milan Gajic Gary Mabbutt's Knee 44 44 4 63767

Very close, all in all.

Portugal7 retains top spot, although I am hot on his heels. Foxtrot runs a close 3rd but Spiny joins the Elkmaster to dispute the wooden spoon.

Only 16 points cover our five teams. Portugal7 still from moi although Foxtrot is closing fast. The Elkmaster scores one solitary point more than Spinynorman, leaving the latter in sole charge of "the spoon" :P

Portugal6 has now increased his lead over me to nine points. The Elkmaster scores a handy 40 points and leapfrogs Foxtrot, whilst at the back, Spiny is struggling to keep up with the pack, like the fat kid on Sports Day

Portugal continues his run at the top although his lead has been trimmed to just 9 points by the Elkmaster.

I have lost some ground in third which Foxtrot has taken advantage of and narrowed the gap to 5 points.

Finally, Spiny is busy doing his impression of an asmatic ant with heavy shopping bags :P
