The Oracle proves he is a god among men with yet another mercurial FPL display. A final league position of 985th - his 3rd top 1000 finish in 4 seasons - sees the Oracle walk the walk yet again. It's just getting boring now. Sure, there are others who have had better single seasons, but these flash in the pans are rarely followed up with similar heights the following season. I mean, let’s take a minute to consider the facts. 1st season – 3,488th. 2nd season – 872nd. 3rd season – 743rd. 4th season – 1,780th. And now this. It just don’t get much better. Happy to be proved wrong, but if anyone’s got a better average from the last 4 seasons of 1095th then I tip my cap. It’s just like perfection, flawless, absolutely flawless.





So let’s rewind to last July. The Oracle asked all comers if they wanted a chance at him – a square go of the fantasy variety if you will – and very few cited an interest (sensible people). Of those foolish enough to ponder it, their hopes were dashed when the thread was removed on the grounds that he was using it as a moneyspinner. Well of course it was a moneyspinner, it’s the Oracle in a fantasy fitba bet (confused). What part of that did people not understand. Put your money down against the Oracle, in a matter of fantasy, and you’d be as well wiping your arse with the purple note and flushing it down the pan. There are after all just three certainties in life – you live, you die, and the Oracle beats you at fantasy fitba. You either know fitba or you don’t.

At any rate, the thread getting closed saved these daft few from what is referred to in the trade as a spanking. There are some people in life who can, and others who can’t. The Oracle can. You lot? Total caaaaaaaaaaaaants.




And that’s where our story ends people. The Oracle, aka muzzinho, tubes, yer old da and the artist formerly known as hardbody, has left the building. But what a way to go out. Happy as Larry…could not be happier.

Well, it's interesting that the Oracle talks about betting on performance as he deciding against doing so in a high stakes league this year.
As I mentioned (in another of his self congratulating threads) he played a $300 entry league last year and finished out of the money. He declined to enter this year which was just as well as he would have finished out of the money again.
I pocketed the $3,300 first prize this year with a 50th overall placing. I also have a 9th place finish in 2005/06 (thank you FISO archives for recording that!) and a 492nd in 2004/05. So although my 5 year ranking isn't as good as his, I have the BIG finishes that win BIG leagues.
In fact the Oracles BEST EVER finish of 743rd wouldn't have made the money in that big money league this year (4th place 501st).
As Mr Djokovic states, he truly is Andy Murray. He's decent but he can't sit at the top table.
Or do you wanna play the big boys league next year son? Huh? Do ya?

I posted that I'd take the Oracle on and my finish of 958th (prob beat Oracle by 1 pt) would have seen me a £10 better off. Shame the bet never went through....Maybe next season. Due to a poor 20,000 a few years back I can't beat 1,095 average, but my 37th in 06/07 gives me a betetr PB
